    Restyle GLK

Ainda no pára-choques frontal deverão estar presentes LEDs.
A actualização poderá pôr o 3.5 V6 do C350 debaixo do capot do GLK.

        Press release
        :
Unveiling of first "Mercedes-Benz Style" product in Geneva: EC145 "Mercedes-Benz Style" helicopter from Eurocopter makes its world premiere
The first product from "Mercedes-Benz Style" is ready for take-off: The EC145 "Mercedes-Benz Style" helicopter from Eurocopter celebrates its world premiere on 17th May, 2011 at the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition 2011 (EBACE) in Geneva, after which it will be handed over to a European customer. Mercedes-Benz designers created the interior, which is notable for its outstanding versatility and exquisite materials. The EC145 "Mercedes-Benz Style" is tailor-made for luxury-class business and private travel.
"We are very pleased to have realized the first product of ‘Mercedes-Benz Style' with Eurocopter," said Prof. h.c. Dr. Gorden Wagener, head of design at Mercedes-Benz. "The interior design of the EC145 ‘Mercedes-Benz Style' helicopter represents the classic passion of the Mercedes-Benz design language and fulfils the very highest expectations in terms of elegance, luxury and comfort."
The luxurious interior design was created in the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studio in the Italian city of Como and is inspired by the luxury-class saloons created by the brand with the three-pointed star. The EC145 "Mercedes-Benz Style" offers deluxe materials, elegant woods, and ambient lighting familiar from the S and E-Class that can be adjusted to a number of different colour and brightness settings, as well as spacious multi-function boxes with various equipment options.
Moreover, the designers have placed a great deal of emphasis on variability. The passenger cabin is incredibly versatile, making the EC145 "Mercedes-Benz Style" ideal for a diverse range of travel needs - from business or family travel, to leisure and sporting trips. All seats are fixed to rails and can be rearranged very easily in a number of different arrangements for four to eight passengers, or removed altogether in order to create space for luggage. The spacious load area also offers a high degree of flexibility with an extensive range of anchoring options on the floor and walls.
"Only one year after Eurocopter presented the EC145 ‘Mercedes-Benz Style' concept at EBACE 2010, we now are unveiling the first aircraft and can already announce the initial sale to a European corporate operator," said Olivier Lambert, Eurocopter's Senior Vice President Sales and Customer Relations. "These achievements confirm Eurocopter's successful approach in developing products that meet the demanding expectations of executive and private customers worldwide."
        About "Mercedes-Benz Style"
In addition to styling iconic automobiles, the designers at Mercedes-Benz also work on product design in other fields. The portfolio of "Mercedes-Benz Style" division comprises not only transport-related products, but also furniture and lifestyle products, as well as industrial design. The business model for "Mercedes-Benz Style" incorporates contract work - whereby the design rights are sold to the product manufacturer - and the granting of design licences.

Mercedes is considering a high-performance four-door that would slot into the firm’s range above the CLS and give it a rival to Bentley’s Continental GT.
The dedicated hot model has been described to Autocar as an “über-CLS”. It’s likely that it would have an even more dramatic shape than the coupé-like CLS and feature AMG engines and chassis tuning to justify a considerably higher price.
See pics of the Xenatec 62S Coupe
Mercedes believes that it can slot the model into its range — alongside the CL two-door — because of the burgeoning market for ultra-expensive, high-performance models, particularly in Russia and the Middle East.
The firm is determined to take a larger slice of those sales, bullying aside Bentley’s offering and a forthcoming extreme Porsche Panamera GT.
A possible Maybach spin-off of the four-door is also a distinct possibility, say our sources, pointing to the interest shown in the striking one-off 62S Coupé (pictured) that has been displayed at motor shows by German engineering firm Xenatec.

                                First Drive: 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe

Entry-Level Benz Finally Drops A Set Of Doors

For those that remember it, the secretary-special two-door CLC hatchback, built on last-generation C-class bits and pieces, was rather embarrassing for Mercedes-Benz. It was a dumpy thing, but at least Daimler was smart enough to not even attempt selling it in the States.

Thankfully, the decidedly easier-on-the-eyes C204 C-Class Coupe has just arrived, and we're getting this hot toddy. So what took Stuttgart so long to bring us this no-brainer variant of the C-Class? Were they worried about coupe clutter between the CLC- and E-Class? Too many two-doors, too soon? Funnily, we asked, and all we heard back were sheepish "We were waiting for the mothership to come around and give us the go-ahead for this car" comments. Gallery: 2012 Mercedes C-Class Coupe: First Drive

From 2001 through 2007, Mercedes tried valiantly with the CLC's predecessor, the C-Class Sport Coupe hatch (it even sold a handful in the States for a couple of years), going so far as to market a sales-proof AMG version of the C30 CDI diesel as an experiment for them whacked-out Yurpeens. We barely ever see this model in Europe these days, but the company insists that around 250,000 of them were sold.

Mercedes-Benz finally intends for the coupe body to play a much more serious role in its C-Class lineup, despite the next-gen C-Class lurking only a couple of years away. Company spokespeople insist that the coupe will come along much sooner in the next version, all of this being made easier by a quiet and permanent goodbye to the lowly CLC. (A future A-Class coupe will suffice as the "starter" Mercedes two-door).

                                Comentário

While overall height at 55.4 inches is exactly the same as the past C Sport Coupe (and 1.6 inches shorter than the current W204 C-Class sedan), wheelbase is 1.8 inches longer to go along with its 180.7-inch total length – making this coupe actually a tick longer than the sedan.

"We" are nearly six feet tall, so choosing a smaller two-plus-two coupe over an equivalent sedan is not a decision to be taken lightly. First, like all coupe buyers, we have to be of a mindset that's fixated on the coupe lifestyle even if there are one or two kids in the picture. We admit that the lion's share of coupe buyers in this segment probably don't have children, but it's important that your coupe is accommodating enough to stick around in case those tiny feet show up.

The C-Class Coupe's packaging has this covered. While its body form may be more conservative and less sexy than the BMW 3 Series Coupe or the Audi A5, there's more usable space inside than its rakish rivals. Once in the back seat of your choice, legroom with the front passengers set up comfortably is just fine if you have a 36-inch inseam or less. Even so, headroom is truly fine only up to about five feet, eleven inches; your author's head brushed regularly up against the top of the backlight.

Parking woes aside, we always hope for longer doors on two-plus-two models to ease rear seat ingress and egress. Alas, this is not always possible, as re-engineering tends to cost a bundle. That's the case here, too, as the C's doors could be longer. The front chairs motor forward when the seatbacks are titled forward, but they do so very slowly, and the getting in and out is still not as easy as one-two-three. Every little bit helps, certainly, but the latest C-Class sedan is about as sexy as this coupe while being easier to live with by nature. If, on the other hand, a traditional sedan shouts "I rarely have sex anymore" to you, this coupe is a ready solution.

Our C350 coupe's 302-horsepower, direct-injected 3.5-liter V6 was good for most of the day's frolic in southern Spain. We also drove for a bit in the C250 GDI coupe with its turbocharged, 201-hp 1.8-liter inline-four that's also coming over to the States in September. If you're worried about the latter being up to snuff for U.S. tastes, don't be. The 229 pound-feet of torque available between 2,300 and 4,300 revs takes this 3,418-pounder to 60 mph in 7.0 seconds flat. That's more than adequate for this less costly and more efficient package. Prices, by the by, won't come out until midsummer, but a base C250 coupe should begin in the neighborhood of $35,400 and the C350 coupe at around $40,900.

The 3,560-pound C350 coupe is paired exclusively with a seven-speed 7G-tronic Plus automatic, good for a 0-60 time of around 5.8 seconds on its best day – about three tenths of a second slower than an Infiniti G37 Coupe 6MT. But the Infiniti suffers from both lousy trunk space and rear passenger room, and the everyday ride of the Japanese coupe just doesn't compare with the more versatile chassis setup offered by this Benz. Cargo space in the Infiniti's trunk is just 7.4 cubic feet and the Mercedes C Coupe leads this size group at a minimum of 15.9 cubic feet. Knock the seats down in back of the sloping Merc and the cubed footsies just about triple.

                                  Comentário

Our C350 tester also had the full European AMG Sport Package, which includes optional $1,040 18-inch wheels with sturdy ContiSportContact3 treads, the six-tenths-of-an-inch lower Sport suspension and full silver anodized interior touches, among other things.

The best part of the C Coupe is that its body structure is stiffer by its very two-door nature. This resulting C350 Coupe drives more finely than any other V6-equipped model offered by Stuttgart. Granted, the full-on C63 AMG Coupe we also tried at this same event felt very nice at the Monteblanco circuit outside of Seville, but the AMG-accoutered C350 was spectacular on lively Spanish roads. There were times when the seven-speed 7G-tronic Plus auto is slow to respond with downshifts – even while in most aggressive Manual mode – but everything else was appropriate for this not-quite-AMG trim. Keep the adaptive suspension in Sport, ESP in Sport Handling mode, and the auto in Manual, and it's all ready for your favorite rolling two-lanes in desolate, unpoliced places.

The 273 lb-ft of torque from this newly direct-injected M276 V6 is exactly as we just tried in the midlife E350 Sport sedan, and like that model, fuel consumption is improved by near 20 percent versus its outgoing port-injected predecessor. It's not final yet, but that could mean EPA numbers of 20 mpg city and 30 mpg highway for the coupe.

While the C Coupe's typical premium/sport/cush Mercedes cabin treatment might not be your personal cup o' tea, the execution here is supreme, nay, divine. The quality of the interior is up for this new model year, with better feeling plastics, displays that are at once more colorful and clear, and in general, a more premium aura. The choice on the sportier coupe to fit four individual seats is also the right one – we'd much rather have two more comfortable perches in back than a seldom-used apology for a center seat.

Once the 2012 Mercedes C-Class coupe shows up at the end of summer, the full range will include the aforementioned 201-hp turbocharged C250, the 302-hp C350 V6, the 228-hp C300 4Matic with the current-gen V6. Naturally, there will also be the 451-hp naturally aspirated C63 AMG coupe that will be available with a 480-hp Performance Pack and what looks to be a 4.3-second scorch to 60 mph. We'll have more on the latter in a separate First Drive soon.

There will no doubt be a lighter Black Series edition of the AMG C-Class Coupe soon, as well. Maybe even with a snappy six-speed manual available by request. C'mon, Mercedes, let your hair get tossed out of place a bit.

Mercedes-Benz’s secret plans for a front-engined sports car positioned beneath the SLS have progressed to a decisive phase, according to officials from the German maker.

They’ve confirmed to Autocar that the new V8-powered two-seater has been granted an official codename — traditionally the first step towards intensive development and a production future.
The new sports car is scheduled for launch in 2014 and has a projected price of £75,000. The evocatively styled two-door has been conceived in a joint exercise between Mercedes-Benz’s regular passenger car department and its performance car division, AMG.

AMG is set to assume responsibility for the car’s engineering, development and testing in a move mirroring that of the SLS coupé and its forthcoming roadster sibling.

High-ranking Mercedes-Benz officials already refer to the new model as the SLC — a name last used on a fixed-roofed version of the fourth-generation SL, produced between 1971 and 1981.

Unlike that car, though, the modern-day SLC is set to receive its own unique exterior and interior design. The coupé version, depicted here, will be followed in 2016 by a fabric-roofed roadster variant.

However, in a move aimed at ensuring that its development and production costs are kept in check, the new SLC is earmarked to share various mechanical and electrical components with next year’s seventh-generation SL.

Buoyed by the success of the SLS — both commercially and in terms of image building for the rest of the range — Mercedes-Benz’s management sees the SLC as the next logical step in cementing plans for a two-tier line-up of performance cars wearing the three-pointed star: those based on regular models and a more exclusive line-up of dedicated cars.

One of the key rivals for the SLC will be the Porsche 911. Members of the AMG engineering team involved in the early development strategy describe the 911 Carrera S as being an obvious dynamic benchmark. But they’ve also revealed that the Aston Martin V8 Vantage is among a group of cars already pinpointed as competitors. In the UK, the 911 Carrera S is priced at £76,172.

There was speculation that Mercedes had ditched early plans to provide the car with a front-engined layout in favour of a mid-engined architecture. However, this has been strenuously denied by high-ranking sources.

“Mercedes-Benz has no history of mid-engined road cars,” said an insider. “We have occasionally toyed with the idea in various concept cars. But when you look back, the company is defined by its front-engined sports cars, such as the original SL.”

The styling of the SLC has been developed by a close-knit group of in-house designers at the company’s Sindelfingen studio near Stuttgart. Among those involved is British-born designer Mark Featherstone, who was part of the team that worked on the forceful looks of the SLS.

Described as being “contemporary retro” in appearance, the SLC is expected to adopt the visual tone of the original SL, with a distinctive cab-back silhouette that features an elongated nose section and a relatively short rear. It is also expected to have wide tracks and exaggerated wheel arch treatment.

Despite obvious similarities to the SLS, the SLC is said to be more compact overall, with length running to not much more than 4.5 metres.

We’re unlikely to see the SLC or a concept car hinting at its appearance for at least another two years, but those privy to its design suggest that it is every bit as arresting as the SLS.

“It is going to make the 911 seem old-fashioned,” said one source, describing not only its appearance but also its construction, which centres around a lightweight aluminium structure similar to that used by the SLS.

The body of the new coupé is expected to include a combination of aluminium and carbonfibre panels, which should give it a kerb weight considerably lighter than the 1620kg of the larger SLS.

Power for the 911 rival is expected to come from a naturally aspirated version of AMG’s latest ‘M157’ engine. This 90-degree 5.5-litre V8 is said to be good for at least 420bhp in standard guise. That is 149bhp less than the naturally aspirated 6.3-litre V8 used in the SLS, but it is still sufficient to trump the latest version of Porsche’s naturally aspirated 3.8-litre flat six, as launched in the 911 GTS, by 16bhp.

Even so, it will be the high levels of torque at low engine revs that will likely define the rear-wheel-drive SLC’s on-road character. Expect something in the region of 405lb ft. By way of comparison, the 911 GTS has a more modest 309lb ft.

It is still conceivable that Mercedes will opt for the older 6.2-litre ‘M156’ engine — but stringent EU6 emissions regulations mean this is now the less likely option.

The transmission will be a reworked version of the SLS’s six-speed, dual-clutch transaxle gearbox, equipped with a lighter aluminium housing and revised electronics for quicker shifts.

                                                  Gl63 amg

The legendary Unimog is a rugged, go-anywhere vehicle designed to handle just about any job you can throw at one. Daimler-Benz took over the production of Unimog trucks back in 1951, and now 60 years later, Mercedes-Benz looks to honor the history of the vehicle while also taking a look at its possible future.

A Unimog concept vehicle has been prepared as a glimpse into what tomorrow may bring for the legendary truck. The concept is based on the modern Unimog U 5000 chassis, while the open top is a nod to the original Benz Unimog from 1951.

The rest of the machine doesn't really bring anything else from the Unimog's history to mind, instead pointing the way toward the future with radical styling, oversize wheels and a fully exposed chassis.

Mudanças no horizonte.
