For the 2011 Los Angeles Design Challenge, which was seeking to find the most spectacular new film car for Hollywood, the designers from the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studios in Sindelfingen (Germany) and Carlsbad (USA), have joined the ranks of the screen-writers.

The designers at the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studio in Carlsbad, California have created a Hollywood-style homage for Mercedes-Benz to 125 years of innovation in automotive technology and design. The leading roles are played by two high-tech characters which have been instrumental in reconciling safety and stylish design in automobiles: the Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrow cult racing car and crash test dummies.

The film "Silver Lightning" is set in the near future, in an age of artificial intelligence. Two crash test dummies by the names of Hans05 and Franz02 take on evil ruler Dr. Crash-Barrier to save their beloved Mercedes Silver Arrow. They engage in an action-packed, nerve-jangling duel with the ruthless battering ram before finally outfoxing him. The Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrow Concept is a low-lying sculpture on wheels. A feat of technical innovation is the diagonal, hubless roller which allows steering in all directions. The futuristic Silver Arrow's proportions are reminiscent of the legendary sports car from the late 1930s and the Uhlenhaut SLR from the 1950s.

Mercedes-Benz Vito ganha um interior de 1ª classe pela búlgara "Vilner"

In stock form, the Mercedes-Benz Vito isn’t exactly a first choice option for those looking for a luxurious mode of transportation, but with the right upgrades it can be transformed into quite a different place with the added bonus of having plenty of room for its passengers.
Bulgarian design studio Vilner took a standard Mercedes-Benz Vito 120 CDI and turned it into a luxurious business class van with an interior inspired by first class seats on airplanes.

The entire interior was redone in high-quality materials such as Nappa leather and Alcantara upholstery, with Vilner adding a pair of Mercedes-Benz CL front seats and four modified, airplane-style seats for the rear passengers.
The tuner also added various amenities including but not limited to, a high-end infotainment system with a 19-inch LCD display, a refrigerator, a minibar, and cooled and heated cup holders.
On the outside, Vilner wanted to keep the Vito inconspicuous with the only changes including the Bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights and the new alloy wheels.

Para comemorar o centenário do nascimento de Manuel Fangio surge o concept W100F concebido por Jorge Fernandez.

On doit cet agréable excercice de design à Jorge L.Fernandez qui l’a réalisé fin 2011 (Manuel Fangio est né le 24 juin 1911). Il nous propose une voiture de sport monoplace compacte dont les volumes sont créés par les flux aérodynamiques et une superposition de lignes courbes. Pour sa W100F, Jorge LFernandez a même imaginé que sa voiture pourrait être propulsée par le V8 biturbo Mercedes associé à la BVAS7 que nous connaissons sur les versions AMG. Pour la suspension, 4 roues indépendantes avec tirants et poussoirs sont de la partie et le freinage est assuré par des disques en carbone céramique.

Dans le cockpit, un baquet rouge, une saute vent (casque obligatoire) et un combiné porte instruments inspirés de ceux de compétition. Reste qu’il y a peu de change de voir cette W100F passer de la 3D à la réalité… ce n’est pas l’air du temps en 2012 !

Grelha modificada, capot sobreelevado, talvez para albergar equipamentos de testes, possivelmente, distância entre eixos acrescido em relação à actual geração.

Development on the third generation Mercedes-Benz Viano has begun as spy photographers have caught first pictures of a chassis test mule for the first time.

The Mercedes-Benz Viano was introdcued in 2004 as a passenger version of the Vito commercial panel van and went on to receive a facelift in 2010 with revised bumpers and lights.

Spies inform us that different prototypes have suddenly been spotted around Europe, and all of them have this modified bonnet which is raised and has a bigger grill. We've seen this kind of technique used on other prototypes before, as the extra space is need for test equipment situated on the engine. Spies also report the wheelbase has also slightly changed.

We expect all of the luxury people carrier creature comforts and engines with BlueEFFICIENCY technology to carry over to the new generation and possibly plug-in hybrid and EV versions (ala Vito E-Cell) could go mainstream.
