(Cadillac XTS)
Former Opel CEO Karl-Friedrich Stracke revealed the company is working on a flagship model, but new details are starting to emerge about it.
According to AutoNews.de, Opel is developing a luxurious sedan which could revive the Omega moniker. It would reportedly be based on the Cadillac XTS and could be launched in late 2013.
Power would likely be provided by a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 304 hp (227 kW / 308 PS) and 358 Nm (264 lb-ft) of torque. However, the magazine speculates there could also be a turbocharged 2.8-liter V6 with 325 PS (239 kW / 321 hp) or a twin-turbo 2.0-liter diesel with 195 PS (143 kW / 192 hp). Regardless of which engines are offered, all-wheel drive will likely be optional.
