    Ferrari Califórnia 2015 - mais potente, leve e rápido e V8 turbo!

Novo Ferrari California poderá receber motor turbo

Coupé-cabriolet could switch to a forced induction engine in its second generation

This mule could be hiding a blown 3.8-litre V8 for use in the next Ferrari California

This lightly disguised Ferrari California mule is said to be testing powertrains and running gear for the next-gen model, likely to be on sale around 2014/15.
A key detail is the engine in this test car, which on-lookers reported to sound like a turbocharged unit and is likely to be a version of a new V8 family now in production at Maranello.
The raised bonnet line and extra cooling vents could also be a sign that the turbo engine has a taller package height that needs more under-bonnet space and heat management.

However, insiders say that the unusual exhaust arrangement on this mule is purely a test-car requirement, needed to clampdown on noise output at the Fiorano test circuit, where strict operating regulations are in force to pacify local residents.
The new V8 family is Ferrari-designed and already in production having has just appeared in the Maserati Qattroporte in a twin-turbo 3.8-litre version, although there’s no word yet on whether Ferrari will use the same capacity.

Despite appearing first in a Maserati, Ferrari is insistent that the unit is thoroughly theirs, having been designed and built in Maranello at a new £40 million facility.
Ferrari has previously confirmed that it is working on downsized engines to meet tougher exhaust and emissions tests, with speculation suggesting that could even include the first road car V6 since the 1968 Dino.

However, sources suggest that might be a step too far for the next California. Instead a lightly blown 3.8 V8 could easily match the 453bhp output of the current California’s naturally aspirated 4.3, while performing well in exhaust and emissions tests.

The twin-turbo version in the Quattroporte, for example, already makes 523bhp, although Ferrari will want to ensure the engine delivers its power in the direct manner that owners are accustomed to.
A date for the California replacement is also the source of some speculation. Ferrari’s mid-engined cars are on a five-year replacement cycle, its V12 models seven-years.
Some commentators have suggested a six-year cycle for the California, suggesting a late 2014 reveal and early 2015 sale for a car that was first seen late in 2008 and launched early in 2009.

Retirar dessas imagens alguma apreciação visual do sucessor do California é inútil.

New front-engined Ferrari revealed in patents

Recently published illustrations reveal potential Ferrari California replacement; could feature turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 and rear-mounted hybrid system

Overlaying the new design on the existing California reveals many similarities...

A series of design patent images have revealed that Ferrari is developing a new model, which may well be the next-generationFerrari California.

Several official illustrations, which appeared online after being submitted for design registration, show the new Ferrari in detail.

It's evident that the car features many design cues found on current Ferraris, including the front and rear styling of the FF. The lights are the same as those seen on the current 458, F12 Berlinetta and FF, while the lower valance appears a hybrid of that found on the FF and F12.
Despite the illustration appearing to show a fixed-roof coupé, there are prominent cut lines in the roof that suggest that a production version would feature a folding metal hard top, like the California. The images may also not be representative of the final production version, accounting for the lack of an obvious receptacle for the folding roof.
The Ferrari California is currently the oldest model in the manufacturer's range, having being revealed in late 2008 and launched in early 2009, and features styling that's not in line with more recent models.

Previously the date for the replacement California had been the source of some debate, with Ferrari's mid-engined cars being on a five-year replacement cycle and its V12s on a seven-year cycle. Some had suggested a six-year cycle for the California convertible, however, pointing at a late 2014 reveal and early 2015 on-sale date.

A lightly disguised Ferrari California test mule was spotted earlier in the year, with obvious changes including a much higher bonnet line, a different front end and new lights. Sources suggested at the time that the car was testing a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8, which has recently made its way in to the Maserati Quattroporte.

Currently the rear-drive California is powered by a naturally aspirated V8 that produces 483bhp and 375lb ft. It's capable of 0-62mph in under 4.0sec and has a top speed of 194mph. The new twin-turbo Ferrari-designed and built 3.8-litre V8 puts out 523bhp and 523lb ft.

The presence of notable bonnet louvres in the sketches of the new model potentially indicate that it too could receive a turbocharged powerplant; they would serve to reduce the high underbonnet temperatures that are typically associated with high-performance forced-induction engines.

Fitting a turbocharged engine would also help Ferrari meet increasingly demanding emissions and economy targets. An illustration of the chassis also suggests a flat undertray will be fitted, in order to reduce drag - which will again help improve performance and efficiency.

Recent patents for myriad hybrid technologies, including a rear-mounted hybrid system for a front-engined, rear-drive coupé, may indicate that the new California could also receive a hybrid powertrain. The California was notable for featuring many economy-related technologies when launched, and it was also the first production Ferrari with a stop/start system.

There has been some speculation that the images may be of a Ferrari FFcoupé, or special one-off variant, but Ferrari already offer a high-performance front-engined coupé in the form of the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. The new car also appears to feature the same central section as theCalifornia, but with a longer nose and different tail.

Ferrari declined to comment regarding the new design registrations.

Ferrari California - com motor V8 turbo

Amedeo Felisa, Ferrari's executive director, announced a few details about turbo V8 engine of the company. Felisa said that the turbo and direct injection engine the best choice for high performance without increasing spending, and that the turbo makes way for improving the performance of present past five years.
Felisa has ruled out any possibility of presenting turbo hybrids since these models are not cost-effective.
First, the use of turbo engines is expected late next year.Despite this decision the company Ferrari, Felisa said that the future V12 engine will be exclusive atmosphere.

According to Motor Trend's sources, the car will use a twin-turbo V8 engine that is closely related to the Maserati Quattroporte's twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 that develops 530 HP (390 kW) and 710 Nm (524 lb-ft) of torque. There's no word on specifications but engine will reportedly be equipped with a number of unique components.

For comparison, the current California has a naturally-aspirated 4.3-liter V8 engine that develops 490 HP (360 kW) and 505 Nm (372 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 312 km/h (194 mph).

Besides getting a new engine, the California is slated feature aluminum body work and a power folding hardtop. We can also expect a new infotainment system that could be loosely based on Chrysler's UConnect system.
The California could be introduced at the Geneva Motor Show before going on sale late next year.
