    Spyker B6 Venator concept coupé

New Geneva Motor Show-Bound Spyker B6 Concept Car - Carscoop

Dutch sports car marque Spyker, which almost went belly up along with Saab after it acquired the latter from General Motors (we all know how that ended…), is heading to the 83rd Geneva International Auto Salon that runs from March 7 to 17, with a new concept model named the B6.

To capture out interest before the unveiling, Spyker released a shadowy image that outlines the shape of the B6 Concept coupe, revealing its heavily arched front and rear fenders, but nothing much else.

Spyker won't release any other details on the car yet, but it has been rumored that the B6 might be designed to preview a Porsche 911 coupe challenger. Guess we will have to wait and see if there's any truth to this rumor.Story References: Spyker via Autoblog.nl

                Could be priced from $125,000

Breakups can be hard but sometimes the best way to move on is with something sexy, exotic and fun. Spyker seems to agree as they're putting theSaabpocalypse behind them with the attractive B6 Venator concept.
Recently unveiled in Geneva, the B6 Venator is a mid-engine sports car which is designed to deliver a "rare combination of heritage, design, performance and exclusivity."

Named after the Latin word for "Hunter," the Venator recalls the Spyker Hunter aircraft from the early 20th century. As such, the model has an aircraft-inspired canopy with glass that extends rearwards to minimize drag. There's also afterburner-inspired LED taillights and 19-inch Turbofan-style alloy wheels.
In traditional Spyker fashion, the interior is awash with high quality materials and premium accents. Notable highlights include premium leather upholstery, turned aluminum trim and aircraft-inspired instruments.

Detailed performance specifications were not released, but power is provided by a V6 engine that develops more than 375 HP (276 kW). It is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.
The B6 Venator is slated to go into production in early 2014 and will be available in Asia, Europe, India and the Middle East. Following the initial roll out, the Venator will come to America in the fall of 2014 and sell for $125,000 to $150,000.

                        Só vejo dois defeitos:

O plástico/borracha preta no volante.

This month, Spyker N.V. ("Spyker") unveiled its new B6 VENATOR CONCEPT at the 83rd Geneva International Motor Show to worldwide acclaim. The overwhelmingly positive response was captured in media headlines, such as: "Spyker's B6 Venator Designed to Take Off," "Is This the Coolest Car Interior Ever?" and "Spyker's Back in the Hunt." Today, the automaker confirms that the SPYKER B6 VENATOR -- Latin for "hunter" -- will become a reality, kicking off the brand's global resurgence.

The SPYKER B6 VENATOR CONCEPT is a 2-door compact sports car that will offer discerning drivers a unique alternative in the High Luxury Sports sector -- one that delivers a rare combination of heritage, design, performance and exclusivity. Aside from Spyker's GT endurance racers, the B6 VENATOR is the first Spyker to feature an all carbon fibre body atop a lightweight aluminium chassis. The B6 VENATOR CONCEPT will be powered by a V6 mid-engine boasting at least 375 bhp. Production will begin in the first half of 2014, with initial distribution rolling out first in Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and India -- and then to the US in the second half of 2014.

"The response at Geneva was beyond our expectations, so there is no doubt that we will be producing the SPYKER B6 VENATOR," said Victor R. Muller, founder and Chief Executive Officer. "It is still too early to confirm production specifications. However, I can say that the final design will be very close to the SPYKER B6 VENATOR CONCEPT. It will be immediately identifiable as a Spyker."

Highly detailed design, bespoke materials and aviation-inspired elements are signature to the Spyker DNA. Priced around $150,000 in the US, the B6 VENATOR will allow more access to the exclusive Spyker experience. With the SPYKER B6 VENATOR CONCEPT, the company once again proves its Latin axiom: "Nulla tenaci invia est via" -- "For the tenacious no road is impassable."

"We are greatly encouraged by the response to the B6 VENATOR CONCEPT," said Chief Commercial Officer John Walton. "We look forward to bringing this superb vehicle to market as soon as possible, as we continue to do what we do best at Spyker -- build incredible cars."

Spyker B6 Venator Spyder a caminho

Spyker has always promised much but not actually managed to deliver anything really significant. But there is promise in the new Spyker B6 Venator we saw at Geneva in March and which Victor Muller wants to see in production by next year.

But much of that will probably depend on real buyers stumping up real money to get on the waiting list for a car we still don’t know a great deal about (in particular what underpins it) but which does look good and manages to encompass Spyker’s traditional styling cues whilst still conspiring to look very current.

Now, buried amongst the latest financial report from Spyker – which shows no real turnover or profit, loans in to shares and an injection of cash from Youngman – comes the news that Victor is already getting a bit ahead of himself again with plans to reveal the B6 Venator Spyder later this year.

That looks a bit of a ‘run before you can walk’ scenario for Spyker - especially as Victor says production of the C8 Aileron will gather pace this year and the D8 Peking-to-Paris SUV will be a priority – but if Spyker can produce a Venator Spyder that looks as good as the coupe it may be the right way forward.

But perhaps it would make more sense to concentrate on getting the Venator in to buyers’ hands before they start playing with the Spyder version, and use the momentum those sales should generate (depending on the price point of the Venator Coupe which, at around £125k, seems a bit strong) to develop the D8 and B6 Spyder.

But Victor has always ploughed his own furrow, and if he can prise enough cash from China to launch the Venator, develop the Venator Spyder, ramp up production of the C8 and get the D8 SUV ready for market, he will.

It’ll be interesting to see what Spyker can deliver by the time the Frankfurt Motor Show arrives in September.

Spyker B6 Venator to use a Lotus-built engine

According to a recent report, Spyker CEO Victor Muller has sent out a letter to potential customers that confirms the company is partnering with Lotus.Details are limited but Autoweek.nl is reporting the B6 Venator will use a Lotus-built engine that made from a Toyota-sourced block. Nothing is official but the website says the car will likely use the supercharged 3.5-liter V6 that resides in the Exige S. If this pans out, we can expect it to produce at least 345 bhp (257 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque.

The letter also indicated that Spyker will team up with Chronoswiss to offer a Venator launch edition to the first 100 customers. It will reportedly feature a turned aluminum dash with a Chronoswiss clock and come with a matching Chronoswiss watch that is engraved with the car's production number.
The company is reportedly accepting pre-orders for a €20,000 ($27,170 / £16,980) deposit and B6 Venator coupe production is slated to begin in November of 2014.
