Mitsubishi concept Active Runabout (AR) - MPV compacto

UM MPV compacto com motor a gasolina de injeção direta com novas tecnologias, e habitáculo com bancos flexíveis.
Trio de concepts da Mitsubishi para o 2013 Tokyo Motor Show

Mitsubishi at long last looks to be emerging from an era of acceptable yet somewhat dull product design with an exciting trio of concept cars that hint at the automaker’s future design language and technology. The three new concepts will be unveiled at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show in late November and are the first to be developed in line with the automaker’s ‘@earth’ philosophy. The concepts consist of a full-size SUV, compact crossover and compact MPV, and all look to have been designed with production in mind: these aren’t outlandish vehicles styled by the whims of a designer.

The first of the three concept vehicles is the Concept Grand Cruiser Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle, or Concept GC-PHEV for short. It's a full-size SUV that looks very much like a modern version of Mitsubishi’s Montero (a Pajero for overseas readers).
The Concept GC-PHEV’s drivetrain is likely based on the setup in the 2014 Outlander PHEV, which features a 3.0-liter V-6 paired with an electric drive system. This setup offers permanent all-wheel drive, even in electric only mode, and integrates advanced vehicle dynamic control systems. The Concept GC-PHEV is said to also benefit from next-generation preventative safety features and driver support technology through mobile network connectivity.

Alongside the SUV will be a compact crossover dubbed the Concept Cross Runner Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle, or XR-PHEV for short. This vehicle is likely to preview Mitsubishi’s next Outlander Sport and is said to feature coupe-like styling.

Lastly, Mitsubishi will present a compact MPV dubbed the Concept Active Runabout, or Concept AR for short. This concept isn’t electrified but is instead powered by a conventional gasoline engine with turbocharging and direct-injection technologies. The Concept AR is said to feature a cocoon-like cabin and flexible seating options.

This year’s Tokyo Motor Show kicks off on November 20, so stay tuned for our complete coverage of the event. In the meantime, you can access our ongoing coverage via our dedicated show hub.

Mitsubishi reveals three concepts for Tokyo Motor Show

    Public debut on November 20

Following a teaser released in October, Mitsubishi has revealed its trio of concepts scheduled to make an appearance later this month at Tokyo Motor Show.
First up it's the rather unattractive GC-PHEV (Grand Cruiser) representing Mitsubishi's vision of a next-gen full-size SUV featuring a full-time four-wheel drive system. The vehicle adopts a plug-in hybrid arrangement with a V6 3.0-liter supercharged engine working together with a high-output motor, an 8-speed automatic gearbox and a high-capacity battery.
The XR-PHEV (Cross Runner) previews a future compact SUV powered by a small direct-injection 1.1-liter turbocharged engine and a high-efficiency motor coupled to a high-capacity electric motor.

Lastly, Concept AR (Active Runabout) is a next-gen compact MPV offering the maneuverability of an SUV and the spacious cabin of an MPV. It uses the same hybrid powertrain as the XR-PHEV and adopts a "cocoon-like" cabin layout which according to Mitsubishi provides "superior comfort" for all those inside.
All three concepts benefit from Mitsubishi's latest developments of e-Assist active safety technologies and boast next-gen infotainment systems featuring "connected car" tech.
Further details can be accessed in the attached press release.
