Nissan planning a four-door Infiniti-badged GT-R
The big success the Nissan GT-R is having made the Japanese carmaker think about a four-door version of the car, which will wear the Infiniti badge and will compete Porsche’s upcoming Panamera and the BMW M5. So far we’re only talking about rumors, but it seems that the four-door GT-R will use the same four-wheel-drive chassis and a wheelbase stretched by 5.9 to 7.8 inches. Under the hood, original rumors indicated a less powerful version of the GT-R’s 476 hp twin-turbo V6, but apparently Nissan will use a modified version of the 5.0 liter V8 from the Infiniti FX50, which will develop around 420 hp and will also come with the FX50’s seven-speed automatic gearbox.
The four-door GT-R is expected to debut sometime around late 2010, early 2011, priced at around $100,000.
