The V6 petrol and V6 diesel versions of the Panamera will be launched by Porsche by the end of 2010. But don't expect four-wheel drive since Porsche designed these versions to be cheaper, entry-level models. In fact, the V6 diesel version is made to be quite economical. It's possible that, since the next-generation Cayenne will soon arrive at showrooms, these engines will be updated, if not significantly re-engineered, versions of the units seen in the current Cayenne. Although the Panamera petrol and diesel V6s will make the car far more affordable than the V8s, they still can't be considered cheap by anyone's standards. In the Cayenne, a switch from eight to six cylinders saves $16,000. If the Panamera follows that pattern, it would mean a starting price of a little over $100,000.
