ford has begun testing of electric vehicle based on the new generation focus. Here spy photos of camouflaged prototype, which has no exhaust pipes.
Focus prototype electric vehicle was introduced in autumn 2009 – it was equipped with an electric capacity of 136 horsepower and a set of lithium-ion battery capacity of 23 kw / h. Estimated cruising range for the electric “focus” is 160 kilometers. True, it is possible that the launch of this machine in a series of its characteristics change.
As expected, the first commodity electric vehicles based on ford focus will appear in the u.s. In 2011. Before the new europe will reach by 2012.
Previously reported that by 2012, ford intends to release two and three hybrid electric vehicle – for this purpose american concern will spend 135 million dollars. Currently, ford sells in the u.s. Two hybrid models – fusion sedan and crossover escape.
