Pois é, depois do último lançamento da Ferrari, o FF, já se começa a especular sobre o futuro elemento mais hardcore da gama: o substituto do 599.

Segundo a PistonHeads, podem ficar descansados aqueles que pensam que a tracção às quatro rodas vai chegar a este modelo da marca, pois isso não deverá acontecer. O "599" irá manter a tradicional tracção traseira que tanto agrada aos fãs da marca.

No que toca ao motor, este deverá ser uma evolução do V12 aplicado no FF, devendo, desta vez, debitar um nível de potência superior a 700cv.

O piloto de testes da marca, Raffaele De Simone, revelou que o futuro modelo da marca deverá adoptar algumas estratégias para reduzir o seu peso sem, no entanto, fazer uso extensivo da fibra de carbono, dado ainda não ser economicamente viável produzir dois, três carros por dia utilizando prioritariamente este material, De Simone, brincou ainda, afirmando que "a história do alumínio ainda não chegou ao fim".

Ainda não há qualquer data oficial para o lançamento do GT de dois lugares da marca de Maranello, porém a produção do actual 599 já foi parada para dar lugar à produção do SA Aperta.

A notícia é avançada pela Motor Trend, supostamente, devido ao sucesso do FF, a marca do Cavallino Rampante cancelou a actualização prevista para o 599 em 2012, passando assim a apresentar o seu sucessor.

Quando chegar, o novo "topo de gama" da marca vai surgir mais refinado e confortável devido à adopção de um eixo traseiro multi-link e da caixa de dupla embraiagem de 7 velocidades adoptada no FF, California e 458 Italia.

Ferrari originally planned to face-lift the 599 in 2012. But the FF has turned out so well that the company will now do a mostly all-new car to replace the 599. Unsurprisingly, it is derived from the FF, but will have substantially more performance. The target date remains late 2012.

The screaming V-12 engine will do about 700 horsepower. It will be another, stronger version of the power unit -- based on the 599 GTO's -- in the FF, displacing 6.3 liters, with natural aspiration and an estimated 8500-rpm limit. It has direct fuel injection, which means it will beat the present 599's performance while offering substantial fuel economy gains.

Performance also improves because weight drops. The car will have an aluminum frame, made up of some 20 different alloys to get ideal local qualities of weight, energy absorption, stiffness, panel finish, and joint strength. Ferrari remains committed to aluminum -- it has invested heavily in facilities to make cars out of the stuff -- and doesn't regard it as a second-class solution, despite rivals McLaren and Lamborghini having switched to carbon fiber. Ferrari technical director Roberto Fedeli compares the situation to one in the aircraft industry, where Boeing is emphasizing carbon but Airbus is sticking largely with metals. That said, he acknowledges that the 599 replacement will use some composite panels.

The new 599 will also gain in refinement and comfort, thanks to a multi-link rear axle and seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle, both solutions adopted by the California, 458, and FF. The range of character of these cars, from GT to out-and-out sports car, shows how the systems can be adopted to give the 599 a sportier track-biased positioning than the FF.

A rear-axle e-diff at the rear will give engineers further ability to tune the handling for agility or stability according to the Manettino position. The same control will also alter MR damping program, the gearshift strategy and time, traction and stability systems, and throttle map and bypass exhaust valving.

The 599 replacement will certainly not have AWD like the FF. But it is likely to be made available as an option on a face-lifted California in 2013.

Sempre achei o carro belíssimo, cheio de classe, obviamente que não é aquele tipo de carro que pare metade de uma cidade, mas não é isso que se quer num GT.

O 599 é belo do pilar A para trás. Acho o 458 Italia o mais bem conseguido Ferrari de para ai 20 anos para cá. A primeira imagem a ser é do F70 já que o volume da carroceria indica motor central.
Mas promete, desde que consiga um comportamento menos subvirador e uma estetica mais apaixonante porque a técnica, essa já se sabe.

Remember, the F152 will look nothing like this at all. Powered by a modified version of the great 6.3 liter V12, this one will get direct injection and probably stay rear-wheel-drive only. Power is expected to climb close to 700 horsepower, if not more, and will connect to the rear wheels via the new seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Where the FF is more the family orientated family car for everyday use, the 599 successor will be the true super sportscar thanks to the use of more aluminum and carbon fibre. Expect the F152, real name is still unknown, to debut in 2012.

Ferrari 599 replacement will get a 700bhp 6.3-litre V12, new gearbox and lighter weight for stunning performance

Ferrari will unveil a replacement for the 599 GTB Fiorano at theGeneva Motor Shownext March – and the new two-seat supercar will be more powerful and lighter than before, making it one of the company’s fastest-ever models.

Prototypes of the new car, codenamed F152, have already been spotted near the firm’s Maranello base in Italy. They’re said to be putting a new engine and transmission, developed from the FF’s, through its paces.

And that’s one of the keys to the new car’s appeal. Positioned as an out-and-out hyper GT, the new 599 will feature an even more powerful version of the FF’s 6.3-litre V12 direct-injection engine, producing 700bhp. That will make it the most powerful car in the range, with 50bhp more than the FF and 88bhp more than the current car.

Unlike the FF, it won’t feature four-wheel drive – all that power will be sent to the rear wheels through the FF’s seven-speed twin-clutch transmission, with an F1-style electronic differential.

Under the skin, the newcomer will have adaptive dampers and continue to make extensive use of aluminium. A wide mix of alloys will feature in its new chassis, which was developed from the FF’s, but will have a shorter wheelbase.

Together with the extra power, this will ensure a top speed of 215mph and a 0-62mph time of 3.2 seconds – about as fast as a Lamborghini Aventador.

Styling will be evolutionary, taking inspiration from the 458 and FF, with a strip of LED daytime running lights at the front, a 599 GTO-inspired diffuser at the rear and dramatic buttresses either side of the rear window.

Sales of the new car will start in late 2012, and the price is set to increase from the current car’s £212,000 to around £225,000.
