A Subaru irá apresentar um novo concept no salão de Xangai, o qual será de um novo SUV a apresentar pela marca nos próximos tempos.
Para já, pela silhueta e formas visíveis, faz-me lembrar o Mazda CX-7 e o Infiniti EX.

Esto que ves aquí es el nuevo crossover deSubaru, de momento en formato conceptual para el Salón de Shangai, pero que puedes apostarte dinero a que se convertirá en modelo de producción prácticamente tal cual. Como buen Subbie, tendrá motor bóxer, y tracción integral, pero por el momento no sabemos más detalles del mismo, aunque el teaser luce fenomenal.

Más pequeño, aparentemente, que el desastre comercial del Tribeca, no tenemos muy claro si este redondeado concepto es el sustituto del Forester.

Subaru XV crossover unveiled

Subaru is using Shanghai to preview an Impreza crossover with this concept, called XV.
The four-wheel-drive show car is a little longer than the regular Impreza but around 20cm higher.
Its wheelbase is only slightly longer than an Impreza’s, though, indicating that it’s likely to share a basic platform.

Subaru has already used the XV name in the past 12 months. At last year’s Geneva motor show, it revealed a jacked-up version of the Impreza known as XV and based on the US-only Outback Sport.

FHI Introduces the “SUBARU XV CONCEPT” as the World Premiere

Tokyo, April 19, 2011 - Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI) unveiled the “SUBARU XV CONCEPT” today at the Auto Shanghai 2011 (Press day: April 19 and 20; Open to the public from April 21 through 28 in China.

The SUBARU XV CONCEPT is Subaru’s design concept car that defines a new generation of crossover vehicle, blending exceptional SUV practicality with a fashionable form. The key design concept is “Protren”. This word was coined from “Professional tool” and “Trendy design”. It expresses the integration of “authentic functionality as a professional tool” and “urban and stylish design”.

<Exterior Design>
・The vehicle was engineered to blend the crossover-like commanding silhouette with a fashionable image in a
single, modern package. Its contemporary looks and electrifying lines are guaranteed to turn heads, as its body
exhibits the very solid, dynamic and independent styling so characteristic of all Subaru’s.
・At the very front of the vehicle are standard design elements that are common to the Subaru stable, including
the hexagon grille, winged motif and sharply- and solidly-designed hawk-eye headlights.
・The rear of the vehicle features the same hexagonal design as the front and more hexagons engraved into the
clear blue base under the license plate complement the consistent design theme.
・To better embody the “Protren” theme, the wheel arch cladding offers the image of functionality, playful touch
and driving excitement, which is further enhanced with the black metallic highlights.
・The aluminum alloy wheels are designed to combine a solid, intrepid form and a stylish appearance, while at the same time exhibiting a fashionable look suited to urban driving. Contrasting colors – silver spokes, black rims and clear blue center caps – are used intentionally to generate an exciting balance between quality and
performance.
・The exterior of the vehicle is splashed in riveting “Electro Yellowgreen”, resulting in a gleaming tinge
seemingly emanating from beneath the matte finish. The color embodies electrifying performance, and above all excitement, to round off a tasteful, and at times potent, package.

<Interior Design>
・“Silvery white leather” is used as the base material for the seats, which firmly envelopes passengers to provide
a secure feeling. The use of sporty mesh in selected areas works to create a high quality, yet casual mood, and
“yellowgreen” piping gives the interior a sporty and stylish finish.
・A large multifunction display sits in the center panel. Three different displays – one each for navigation, car
audio, and vehicle information are united in the design and touch panel technology expresses ease of use and
can be operated intuitively.
・The concept car features Subaru’s own advanced driving assist “EyeSight” system. An LCD monitor
positioned between the two well-balanced and highly visible combination meters allows the driver to check the images captured with the EyeSight’s stereo cameras.

Subaru empieza el tardío strip-tease del nuevo XV

Como decíamos el otro día, para esto no hacía falta perder el tiempo con concepts. Subaru ha publicado la primera imagen del nuevo XV, su crossover compacto derivado del Impreza, y como era de esperar, lo que vemos no deja de ser un calco del prototipo exhibido inicialmente en abril. El caso es que tampoco comprendemos por qué pierden el tiempo los chicos de Fuji con teasers y adivinanzas, viendo que ya se han filtrado los renders de cuerpo completo en la oficina de patentes china, pero si les hace ilusión tampoco vamos a decir nada...

Subaru, que por cierto ha dejado de utilizar el nombre Impreza para referirse al XV, indica en la nota de prensa que la nueva generación del modelo saldrá a la venta en Europa a finales de año, sin especificar una fecha completa. Su debut oficial tendrá lugar el 13 de septiembre en el Salón de Frankfurt. Y allí estaremos, como todos los años.

Ya queda muy poco para que Subaru nos muestre la versión definitiva del XV, un crossover derivado de la última generación del Impreza que debería plantar cara tanto a los turismos compactos con tracción integral como a ciertos todocamino.

Hasta ahora el XV lo habíamos visto en formato concepto. Hoy Subaru ha mostrado la primera imagen del modelo de producción aunque sólo en su vista posterior. Agresivo, joven y con elementos decorativos suficientes para separarlo claramente del Impreza, debería comercializarse en Europa antes de que termine el año. El motor utilizado en la unidad del salón será el nuevo 2.0i 16v Bóxer de 150 CV, asociado al cambio automático Lineartronic. Como es habitual en la marca incluirá el sistema de tracción total, pero esta vez en combinación con el control dinámico del chasis (Subaru Dynamic Chassis Control) para conseguir un mejor equilibrio entre confort y comportamiento.

I don't get the marketing for the XV on the Subaru Global website. They are selling the XV as an "urban" vehicle... huh? Why do you need raised suspension and plastic bits in the city?

Subaru vai apresentar XV Crosstrek Hibrido em Nova Iorque

Subaru will unveil a hybrid version of its XV Crosstrek small crossover at the New York auto show next week.

The car will be Subaru's first gasoline-electric vehicle and employ technology based on Toyota Motor Corp.'s hybrid system.

Subaru did not say when the car hits showrooms but the company has promised first deliveries sometime this year.

Also making a world debut in New York will be a concept version of a new performance model, Subaru says.

Fuji Heavy Industries, Ltd., the parent company of the Subaru brand, declined to provide other details. But it released a photo of the hybrid XV Crosstrek in bright lime green.

Facing tougher emissions regulations, Subaru is rolling out hybrid technology to lift fuel economy in a fleet traditionally heavy on SUVs, crossovers and all-wheel-drive vehicles.

Subaru hasn't disclosed details of its hybrid system. But its hybrid concept cars over the years have sported an all-wheel-drive layout mated to the electrified drivetrain.
