Mercedes-AMG Confirms New F1-Powered Hybrid Hypercar, Reveals First Sketch

And... it’s official: Mercedes-Benz confirmed today on the eve of the Paris Auto Show what has been circulating around the rumor mill for quite some time now, the development of its first ever AMG hypercar.

Daimler product development chief Thomas Weber broke the news during Mercedes-Benz Media Night event today.

“I’m very excited to officially confirm our next big thing at AMG is already in the pipeline,” said Weber. “We’re going to create an AMG performance hybrid featuring our Formula 1 drivetrain technology, with a league of AMG performance companies joining forces to create the most efficient and at the same time, the best performing and most spectacular AMG of all time. Some may even call it a hypercar.”

“No matter what you call it, it will definitely show how we’ll take our performance brand into the future with extremely efficient and intelligent drivetrain technology. Of course, as you can expect from us, there will be no compromises in terms of the emotional appeal of this car,” Weber concluded.

It will be revealed next year, possibly at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

FIRST LOOK AT THE DRIVE COMPONENTS OF THE AMG HYPERCAR "PROJECT ONE"


The AMG Hypercar "Project One" will be the highlight of the International Automobile Exhibition in Frankfurt in September. The Affalterbachers have now shown a first outlook on the future driving heart of the Hypercars. The vehicle with a system performance of around 1,000 hp rolls on the road with real technology from Formula 1.



Is the 1.6 liter V6 of the Formula 1 world champion car, the mid-engine will support a maximum of 11,000 revolutions on the crankshaft and is also supported with three 120 kW electric motors - two on the front axle and one directly on the crankshaft. In addition, there is another 80 kW E-engine directly at the turbocharger, leaving no doubt about a turbocharger.



Two large 800-volt batteries store the electrical power that can be generated by energy recovery, including the turbocharger, and release it if necessary. Also a purely electric ride will be possible with the Hypercar.



Furthermore, an active running gear which is individually controlled by each wheel and the rear wheel steering, which is already known from the GT, provide for optimum driving characteristics. A light body and a lot of aerodynamic components ensure further performance of the AMG Hypercar. In total, AMG will build 275 units of transporters - the number exceeds the demand.

Accompanying the short press release is yet another teaser image of spectacular Mercedes-AMG Project One, which reveals its massive fenders and roof scoop, in addition to what appears to be LED headlights, and the 'AMG' lettering engraved in the front bumper's air intake.

Dizem que o ralenti anda nas 4k RPM . Redline 11k.

Em motores deste genero, não há hipótese para a mercedes. E eu odeio a mercedes.

Em motores pequenos muito complicados, com mistura de 3 ou 4 tecnologias, ninguém bate a marca dos taxis.

Se eles conseguirem fazer esta proeza e o carro andar normalmente sem problemas de maior, aplaudo.

É um motor mais pequeno que o do 4C


Esse interior minimalista e magro ao estilo do Valkyrie, é mesmo como adoro.

Quando queres 'balizar' uma zona de visualização, as molduras são fundamentais (para criar uma quebra).

É que tendo relantim as 4000 rpms nem sei como vai ter homologação de estrada....

Já li, não me recordo onde, que este motor tem de ser profundamente revisto a cada 30 ou 40 mil kilometros, não é só trocar filtros e óleo. Alguém confirma esta informação?

Afinal aos 50 000km tem de sacar motor e transmissão fora e desmontar tudo e voltar a reconstruir.
