Boa prova para Filipe Albuquerque e na altura certa, pois como foi nesta corrida foi sagrado o campeão ao volante de um Audi, não vai ser fácil esquecerem da performance do Português!

O que não faria o Filipe ao volante dum carro da versão do piloto sueco, que ganhou a corrida.

Calma, foi uma boa prestação mas não nos esqueçamos que foi uma prova um pouco atípica. Acho que o Albuquerque é capaz de ir longe mas a concorrência é renhida, a começar logo pelo companheiro de equipa, que abandonou nesta prova mas fez um inicio de temporada muito bom para um rookie, tendo já andado lá à frente e conquistado dois 3.º lugares, um 5.º, etc, e excelentes qualificações.

A BMW está a ficar com um line-up muito interessante.

Na audi tb devem estar certos o Mortara e o Rockenfeller, ficando 3 lugares por decidir, sendo que 1 deve ser para uma mulher, ficam dois lugares. A decidir entre o Molina, o Jarvis e o Albuquerque. E mais alguma surpresa que a Audi possa ter.

O line up da Mercedes é que começa a ficar fraco a perda do Spengler é importante, pois deixa a equipa com apenas dois pilotos de ponta (paffet e Green). Devem ter alguma surpresa na manga tb.

Sempre se confirmou que a BMW andou à fruta nos quintais dos vizinhos. Dos pilotos confirmados na BMW, penso que numa fase inicial, o Spengler e o actual campeão andarão geralmente à frente do Priaulx e do Farfus. Mas a médio / longo prazo, acho que o Priaulx será o melhor piloto da BMW. O Spengler tem demonstrado que é rápido em qualificação mas é muito raro fazer uma corrida de trás para a frente. Dá a sensação que o carro dele não consegue lutar. Não é um piloto muito combativo. Será, a meu ver, piloto para alguns pódios. O Tomczyk este ano foi campeão devido ao desaire do Spengler na recta final do campeonato. Andou anos e anos na sombra do Ekström e acho que isso o prejudicou. Este campeonato com um carro de outra equipa foi de certa forma uma chapada de luva branca à própria marca. Mas não altera o facto de achar que é um piloto a que falta mais consistência. Julgo que andará pelo nível do Spengler em termos de resultados gerais. Vamos ver quem são os outros pilotos.

Fico curioso em relação a quem é que a Mercedes vai entregar os outros carros. Espero que não seja a mais ex-pilotos de F1. Tirando o Hakkinen, contratar ex-pilotos de F1 tem sido um fiasco quanto a resultados em pista, atrevo-me a dizer. Não sei se compensam noutros campos. Dos pilotos confirmados, espero que o Paffett volte à forma demonstrada antes de ter rumado ao domínio da F1. O Ralf Schumacher, não tendo chegado lá acima até agora, também já não espero que o faça. O Green, a ser confirmado, é um piloto rápido mas pouco consistente e sobretudo de uma agressividade que lhe estraga algumas corridas. Não é piloto para lutar pelo campeonato.

Na Audi, o Ekström nas últimas provas deste ano, acordou de uma letargia que durou muito tempo. Resta saber se vai adormecer de novo ou se vai manter aquelas prestações. O Scheider é bom piloto mas esta última temporada não lhe correu bem. Irá voltar à boa forma? Vamos ver.

Acima de tudo, é óptimo ter estas 3 marcas a lutar neste campeonato, de novo.

DTM: Heidfeld procura lugar

Nick Heidfeld, sem lugar na Fórmula 1, aponta agulhas para o DTM, não colocando de parte a possibilidade de poder fazer as 24 Horas de Le Mans.

O piloto de trinta e quatro anos ingressou na Fórmula 1 com o apoio da Mercedes, através da Prost, muito embora nunca tenha defendido as cores de uma equipa oficial da marca de Estugarda, passando também pela BMW, entre 2006 e 2009 (na Williams e a na equipa do construtor bávaro) e com o envolvimento dos dois gigantes na principal competição germânica, Heidfeld olha para este campeonato com interesse. ”Estou decididamente interessado no DTM para a próxima época, quer seja como piloto, quer seja como espectador”, afirmou o alemão.

No entanto, e com o crescente interesse de inúmeros construtores pela mais importante prova de "endurance" do mundo, Heidfeld vê a corrida de La Sarthe também como uma possibilidade motivadora. ”Existem outras opções que me agradam: nunca fiz segredo de que gosto bastante do ambiente único das 24 Horas de Le Mans”, reconheceu Nick Heidfeld


Grosjean e Wittmann com a BMW em Monteblanco

BMW Motorsport, vai testar seu novo M3 DTM em Monteblanco a 6-8 de dezembro, onde serão feitas importantes adições à sua lista de pilotos. O francês Romain Grosjean, vencedor da última GP2 com DAMS, e Marco Wittmann , que terminou vice-campeão na Fórmula 3 Euro Series, atrás Roberto Merhi com um dos Signature Dallara-VW terão a oportunidade de testar o novo DTM desenvolvido pela marca bávara. "Ambos têm mostrado que são capazes, em muitos ocasiões em campeonatos diferentes. Agora queremos ver o que pode ser feito com o BMW M3 DTM. Nós já temos quatro pilotos muito fortes, e isso nos permite trabalhar produtivamente durante o teste " , disse Jens Marquardt, principal responsável pela BMW Motorsport. Juntos Grosjean e Wittmann, estará também Martin Tomczyk, que terá o seu primeiro contacto com a BMW em Espanha.

Joey Hand joins BMW's DTM squad for 2012 season



Joey Hand will race in the DTM for BMW next year, following a successful test at Monteblanco last month.

The 32-year-old American has been a factory driver for the German manufacturer since 2009 and has achieved huge success this year, winning both the Daytona 24 Hours in a BMW-engined Riley and then taking the GTE crown in the American Le Mans Series in an M3 GT.

BMW motorsport director Jens Marquardt said: "Joey has been a member of the BMW family for many years, and we are extremely pleased that he will now form part of our DTM project.

"His past successes have impressively underscored his skills set, and during the test in Monteblanco with the BMW M3 DTM he immediately proved to be very fast.

"We are convinced the addition of Joey to our line-up will substantially strengthen our project. In addition, his character fits into our team perfectly."

Hand's signing means five of BMW's six seats have now been taken, with existing factory GT drivers Andy Priaulx and Augusto Farfus having been joined by reigning DTM champion Martin Tomczyk, and long-time Mercedes driver Bruno Spengler.

Hand, who has not raced regularly in Europe since his karting days, said: "I am really looking forward to my new challenge in the DTM, and thank BMW sincerely for the company's confidence in me.

"I immediately enjoyed the BMW M3 DTM. Its downforce and carbon brakes are extremely impressive. I know some of the team members from the past, and was able to acquaint myself with the others in Monteblanco. Now I am looking forward to our close teamwork in future!"

O Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM) virou as costas a Portugal, mas o campeonato continua a ter no país mais a sul da Europa um palco preferencial para testes,

O Circuito do Estoril acolhe os primeiros testes colectivos do DTM. De 7 a 9 de Fevereiro será possível ver os novos Audi, Mercedes-Benz e BMW no traçado dos arredores de Cascais.

O histórico circuito luso está há muito afastado da rota do DTM, mas é quase uma paragem obrigatória das equipas em que nele participam, principalmente a Mercedes-Benz, nos últimos anos.

O DTM tem ainda testes marcados em Valência e Hockenheim.

Para quem puder ir dar uma olhadela (se estiver aberto o acesso) aos testes do DTM, é uma oportunidade a não perder! Pessoalmente acho que os carros deste ano, sendo coupés, têm tudo para dar um outro "ar" a este campeonato.

Numa nota à parte, o que me lixa é que contava ver as corridas na net e à conta dos capitães américa todos os sites que usava para esse género de coisa foram "fechados".

BMW DTM teams complete test in Estoril

While Germany still finds itself in the grip of a winter chill, things were considerably warmer for the BMW DTM teams at the "Autódromo do Estoril" circuit in Portugal, where they have been for a three-day test, as the temperatures were as high as ten degrees Celsius.

From Tuesday to Thursday the BMW drivers completed a total of 969 laps, amounting to almost 4,000 kilometres. Andy Priaulx, Augusto Farfus, Bruno Spengler, Martin Tomczyk, Dirk Werner and Marco Wittmann were all in action. Test and development driver Wittmann took the place of Joey Hand, who was on duty for BMW Team RLL in Sebring as it continued its preparations for the 2012 American Le Mans Series.

Jens Marquardt (BMW Motorsport Director): "Every test is very important for us, particularly in the current phase, as we are fast approaching the homologation deadline. After this point, much of the development work on the car is subject to a freeze. Furthermore, improving the car’s performance is another central issue. We were once again able to find a lot of important things in this area. All in all, we enjoyed another three positive days of testing in Estoril."

Bruno Spengler (BMW Team Schnitzer): "I think we made another step forward with this test. We managed to try out many things and learned a lot. That’s exactly what you want during a test at this stage of the season’s preparations."

Dirk Werner (BMW Team Schnitzer): "It was important for me to get a lot of kilometres here under my belt in the BMW M3 DTM. We managed that, and I am constantly getting a better feel for the car. Every lap counts as we edge closer to the limit. That was my first test in Estoril. The circuit is fantastic."

Andy Priaulx (BMW Team RBM): "The conditions were not stable, and a strong wind was blowing on the first day. At least it stayed dry, which allowed us to make some progress with the set-up. The last time I drove in Estoril was in 2008. It was great fun to return with the BMW M3 DTM. The circuit is excellent, with a lot of challenging corners."

Augusto Farfus (BMW Team RBM): "It was great to finally be back driving in Estoril. The circuit is excellent, and as a driver you enjoy every single lap here. We have worked hard, and now have three successful days behind us during which we were able to work through our programme step by step. The other DTM manufacturers were also in action here. That was interesting - and there was always a lot going on out on the track."

Martin Tomczyk (BMW Team RMG): "The wind was strong at times and is bound to have distorted the test results a little, as it was constantly changing direction during the course of the day. Despite that, we completed our programme well. It is always special when all three manufacturers are testing together. Every so often you glance over at the opposition and take a look at the other cars. Then you quickly focus back on your own job again and get back to work."

Marco Wittmann: "This has been a positive day for me. Obviously it just feels great being part of the BMW family and gaining experience at a DTM test. Many things were new to me, such as the pit stops. But I managed to raise my game over the course of the day. It was good fun to be back at the wheel of the BMW M3 DTM."

Audi driver line-up confirmed for 2012 DTM
At Audi, the current DTM Champion, the „title defense“ project is running at full stretch. A week before the homologation of the new Audi A5 DTM on March 1 the drivers and their assignment to the total of three Audi factory teams have been confirmed.

New car, new technology, new rules - particularly because the season opener at the Hockenheimring on April 29 is bringing a lot of changes to the most popular international touring car racing series and ringing in a completely new era in the DTM, Audi, the 1990, 1991, 2002, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011 DTM Champion, is banking on continuity. The long-standing partner teams, ABT Sportsline, Phoenix Racing and Team Rosberg, are fielding the seven Audi A5 DTM cars and the drivers taking the wheel of the seven Audi A5 DTM vehicles at the Hockenheim season opener on April 29 are well-known quantities too.

Spearheading the Audi squad yet again will be the two-time DTM Champions Mattias Ekström (Sweden) and Timo Scheider (Austria) who will compete for Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline as in the past. In the 2011 season, Hans-Jürgen Abt’s team won four of the ten DTM races and clinched the DTM team title for Audi as well. Ekström’s and Scheider’s new team-mate will be the young Swiss Rahel Frey, who will be tackling her second DTM season in 2012.

Audi Sport Team Phoenix that provided the DTM Champion last year will be competing with an all new formation. After a one-year absence from the team, Le Mans winner Mike Rockenfeller (Germany) is returning to Ernst Moser’s squad for which he successfully competed as early as in the 2010 season. Rockenfeller’s new team partner will be the Spaniard Miguel Molina.

Audi Sport Team Rosberg’s line-up has remained unchanged. Like last year, the Portuguese Filipe Albuquerque and the Italian Edoardo Mortara, who were the two strongest rookies in 2011, will be running for Arno Zensen’s squad.

All three Audi factory teams and the seven drivers were involved in the development of the Audi A5 DTM from the outset and reeled off an intensive test program with the new race coupé in the winter months. „We wanted all of our teams and drivers to start into the new DTM era with the same prerequisites,“ says Head of Audi Motorsport Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich. „I’m convinced that with our three long-standing partner teams and the proven drivers we’re extremely well set for the new DTM season which promises to become particularly thrilling due to the battle between the three German premium manufacturers, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, and will be a tough competition. Not least due to the tightened regulations even the minutest details will count. That’s why continuity with the teams and drivers was important to us. Mattias (Ekström) and Timo (Scheider) know how to win the DTM and each of them is drawing on experience from more than 100 DTM races. Mike (Rockenfeller) won his first DTM race in 2011, Filipe (Albuquerque), Edoardo (Mortara) and Miguel (Molina) all mounted the podium for the first time last year. And I also believe that Rahel (Frey) is able to cause some surprises in her second DTM season. During the winter tests she showed that she has a lot of potential.“

se as regras diziam isso não sei, mas também não seria normal as equipas darem os carros mais recentes aos rookies e deixar os mais experientes com o pior material (e no entanto o Tomczyc venceu o ano passado com um carro de 2008)

"Renger van der Zande out of Mercedes DTM team

Renger van der Zande is not going to be part of the Mercedes team in this year's Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters.
"It's the way things are in car racing right now. In Formula 1, too, the majority of seats have been bought. That means that those of us who mainly rely on their talent and their track record will have to jostle for a good seat," said Van der Zande.
Van der Zande made his debut in the DTM for Mercedes last year, failing to score points. The Dutchman states that the reason he lost his seat is most likely due to that Mercedes want to have a driver from North America.

Van der Zande hopes to reveal his new plans for the 2012 season within weeks.
"I'm not that bothered myself: I see it as a fact of life. I entered the international arena at a wrong time, and unfortunately, I don't have a large home base or 'rich uncle' to offer. I am very happy about the fact that I am a welcome face to many team managers in relevant car racing classes," said Van der Zande.

Mercedes are reported to be negotiating with Canadian driver Robert Wickens."

As asas traseiras são horríveis. O BMW com as ópticas transparentes atrás também não fica nada bem, na minha opinião, claro. A ver se começa o campeonato.

parece que a Audi ainda arranjou mais um carro para o jovem Adrien Tambay (francês), filho de Patrick Tambay (ex-F1). Vai fazer equipa com Rahel Frey.

Na Mercedes, foi confirmada a presença de Jamie Green, na HWA. Junta-se a Gary Paffett, David Coulthard, Ralf Schumacher e Susie Wolff na lista de presenças pela Mercedes.
como curiosidade dos 5 confirmados, 4 são britanicos

Ainda falta supostamente o Robert Wickens. Até agora, o único candidato sério ao titulo que me parece que a Mercedes tem é o Paffett. Talvez o Green também, se fosse mais regular. Mas o Green é mais cão de caça para quando for preciso.
