        NIO ET7 crash teste Chinese C-NCAP

        Now, let’s talk about the vehicle occupants’ safety rating. In this segment, the ET7 had a frontal full width collision at a speed of 50 km/h. Then, the side pole impact was tested at a 32-km/h speed. The ET7 has also been tested by colliding with a mobile deformable barrier. In this test, the car and the barrier (with a weight of 1400 kg) were moving towards each other at a speed of 50 km/h. At last, CATARC has also evaluated the ET7’s whiplash seat assessment. As a result, the NIO ET7 reached 88.18% of safety in this test. We should underline that in the Euro NCAP program, this EV scored 91%.

        For the vulnerable road users’ safety, the ET7 scored 77.15%. As for the safety assistance functions, the NIO’s flagship sedan performed better. Thanks to its effective AEB system and a LiDAR sensor, it has achieved 91.44%.
        As for the final score of the NIO ET7, it is 87.3%. Its performance is impressive, so it has achieved those 5 stars pretty easily (the 5-star grade starts from 80%). The ET7’s safety performance is better than the Volkswagen ID3’s result that was also recently tested by CATARC.

            Confesso que nunca andei de auto-caravana. É permitido transportar passageiros na "casa" enquanto a caravana circula? O bom-senso diz-me que os passageiros deveriam estar sempre na cabina e com cintos colocados sempre que o veículo está em andamento.

              Já fiz uma viagem de autocaravana a França em que éramos 6 pessoas, e todos tinham o seu lugar com cinto de segurança. Daí que a concepção e a robustez dos bancos sejam extremamente importantes.

                  Crash Test Between US and Mexican Market Hyundais Shows How Much Safer Our Cars Are

                  A crash test with two Hyundai sedans from each side of the border shows just how different standards are around the world.

                  A new video released by Global NCAP shows a crash test between two Hyundai cars sold in the US and Mexico respectively. It demonstrates the stark contrasts in vehicle safety standards around the world, as spotlighted by Motor1.

                  Representing the US market is a Hyundai Accent, while the Mexican market car is a Hyundai Grand i10. The two vehicles are the cheapest sedans sold by Hyundai in their respective countries. The US market car features 6 airbags and electronic stability control, a stark contrast to the Mexican market car which only features two frontal airbags.

                  The two vehicles were accelerated towards each other in a head-on crash test, with the cars colliding with a small overlap on the driver's side. The aftermath of the crash shows a major difference in how well the passengers in each car are protected.




                  The Mexican market Hyundai Grand i10 shows serious damage after the crash, demonstrating significant risk of injury to the passengers. In the Mexican market Grand i10, the body shell shows significant deformation after the impact. The A-pillar is badly bent and the driver's door is crumpled, while the steering wheel has also been pushed back towards the driver. There's also little protection from the sides as only frontal airbags are fitted. "The level of protection in the occupant zone is really rather poor, with a high risk of fatal or serious injury," said David Ward, Executive President of Global NCAP.

                  In contrast, the American market Accent sedan performed much better. While the front end has still taken serious damage, the occupant cell itself is far more intact. The door appears almost unblemished and would open a lot more easily than its Mexican counterpart. The A-pillar looks untouched, and even the windscreen survived without major damage. "The body shell has really performed well," notes Ward.




                  While the US market Hyundai Accent also shows heavy front-end damage, the occupant area is more intact, with the passengers inside much less likely to be seriously harmed. The difference between the two is stark and comes down to the different vehicle safety regulations in each country. Alejandro Furas, Secretary General for Global NCAP, believes that educating consumers about vehicle safety is key, such as publicizing star ratings for crash safety. "We believe that if in Mexico, we have much more powerful and much broader consumer information... the gap will be much smaller," says Furas.

                  It's a test that reveals just how far automotive safety has come for markets with the most stringent regulations, like the US and EU. It's something to think about if you're riding in car in places that don't subscribe to rigorous safety standards. Fundamentally, it shows that market forces and government regulations are key to pushing automakers to improve safety. The technology exists; all that's needed is the will to implement it on a global scale.

                            Meh, além de dar rios de dinheiro à Chicco etc., a maior utilidade deve ser atar os miúdos onde não vão mexer em nada e distrair o condutor.



                            E em caso de acidentes, os pimpolhos parecem de borracha - os adultos partem-se todos e eles safam-se ilesos. Decerto que as cadeirinhas ainda melhoram as chances, por isso é que toda a gente alinha.

                                            Citroen C3 scores zero stars in Latin NCAP crash test

                                            In a startling development, the Citroen C3 hatchback, which is also available in India, received a 0-star rating in the Latin NCAP crash tests conducted for the Latin American car markets. The tested C3 exhibited an unstable structure, insufficient side head protection, and weak frontal impact protection, resulting in poor safety ratings in the crash test.





                                            The version of the Citroen C3 assessed by Latin NCAP was manufactured in Brazil and comes equipped with dual front airbags and electronic stability control as standard. Across the series of crash tests conducted by Latin NCAP, the hatchback achieved a score of 30.52% for adult occupant protection and 12.10% for child occupant protection. Additionally, the C3 received scores of 49.72% for pedestrian protection and vulnerable road users and 34.88% for safety assistance.


                                            During the frontal impact tests conducted by Latin NCAP on the Citroen C3, the absence of seat belt pretensioners in the hatchback resulted in weak chest protection for the driver and marginally better chest protection for the front passenger. The frontal impact test also revealed a feeble footwell area and an overall unstable front structure of the car. The C3 did not undergo the pole impact test as it lacks standard side head protection.

                                            The Citroen C3 also demonstrated poor performance in the whiplash protection test, although it displayed satisfactory protection for child occupants. However, the ISOFIX anchorages were found to have inadequate markings for child restraint systems. The Latin NCAP tests also highlighted that the airbag warning marking for the co-passenger seat did not meet their safety standards. Indian and Brazilian models are not same




                                            The Citroen C3 sold in India bears close resemblance to the Brazilian-spec model in terms of powertrain, and features list. But we are not sure if the model sold in India is exactly same as the Brazilian model structurally. The Indian variant of the C3 has been applauded for its well-tuned driving dynamics and comfortable ride quality. However, it has faced criticism for its minimalistic appeal, lack of features, and subpar fit and finish in certain areas.

                                            The Indian version of the C3 is equipped with dual airbags and ABS with EBD as standard but has not yet undergone NCAP crash tests. It is available in India with two engine options: a 1.2-liter 80 PS naturally-aspirated petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, and a 1.2-liter 110 PS turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Citroen C3 is priced starting from Rs 6.16 lakh in India and competes with other models like the recently launched Hyundai Exter and Tata Punch.

                                                      Mas então um determinado modelo não é igual para os diferentes mercados? Já aqui vimos que não e esta é mais uma evidência claríssima. Ainda se anda a discutir se são ou não no tópico dos carros eléctricos, VW EU vs VW China...
