RENAULT TRUCKS AND MKR BEGIN A NEW PARTNERSHIP

Renault Trucks and MKR have just signed a contract reinvigorating a partnership started in 2010. On this occasion, the K520 MKR Adventure, configured as a rally truck and which finished in sixth place in Dakar last time, will be presented on the manufacturer’s stand at the IAA in Hanover from 22 to 29 September 2016.
It was in 2010 that the partnership between Renault Trucks and MKR began. The manufacturer had chosen MKR Technology to fly its colours on the racetracks. The Renault Trucks / MKR Technology Team, headed up by Mario Kress, had won the title of European vice-champion in 2011 and European champion in 2010 and 2012.
MKR recently set itself the new challenge of taking part in the Libya Rally (Morocco), the Dakar Rally and the Silk Way Rally - three new races enabling the trucks to be tested under extreme conditions.
Off-road and rally raid activities are of particular interest to Renault Trucks today because MKR Adventure was developed on extremely difficult terrain with which the manufacturer was familiar thanks notably to its extensive experience in Africa. Through this partnership, the teams of Renault Trucks and MKR mutually enhance their technical and technological know-how, in particular of engines and the transmission system of trucks.
The K520 4x4 MKR Adventure, driven by Pascal de Baar, took part in the Dakar Rally (6th position) and in the Silk Way Rally (7th position) in 2016. It has 1050 hp and develops torque of 4200 Nm. In accordance with the law, its maximum speed is 140 km/h.
