O American Film Institute publicou há dias mais uma lista dos 100 melhores filmes de sempre. A lista final foi o resultado da votação de mais de 1500 profissionais da elite de Hollywood: realizadores, actores, guionistas e criticos.
"Citizen Kane" de Orson Welles foi o vencedor, seguido de perto pelo "Godfather/Padrinho" e pelo "Casa Blanca".
O realizador com mais entradas na lista é Steven Spielberg com 5 filmes, seguido de Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick e Billy Wilder, todos com 4 filmes. James Stewart e Robert De Niro são os actores com mais presenças, 5 filmes cada.
A anterior lista deste género tinha sido publicada em 1998. Em relação a esse ano, agora apenas entraram "Lord of the Rings", "Titanic", "Saving Private Ryan" e "The Sixth Sense".
