Um concept que mostra, não só as futuras linhas de estilo da marca nipónica, como também um crossover que poderá vir a ser produzido em série, o qual se situa abaixo do Juke.

The stunning Nissan Extrem Concept has made its world debut at the Sao Paulo Motor Show in Brazil
Nissan has revealed a stunning ‘urban compact sports coupe’ at the Sao Paulo show. Called the Extrem, it’s built on the Micraplatform and not only features design cues for future Nissans, but could preview a production model, too.
“This is definitely a signal of intent that we want to build something like this,” Robert Bauer, Senior Design manager and Nissan Design America, told us. “Sure it pushes the boundaries in terms of styling, but we make concepts that can make production rather than messing around with styling exercises. In this case we said, OK, let’s make something exciting but feasible.”
There’s certainly space in the line-up for a model like this, sitting below the Juke and Qashqai as a sporty third-model in Nissan’s pioneering crossover line-up.
But before it reaches showrooms, we could see elements of the design in other Nissans, too. “The floating C-pillar is something you’ll definitely see more of,” Bauer told us, while Shiro Nakamura, Nissan’s design boss, added: “The strong character of the headlights and grille will carry through to the rest of the range.”
The Extrem is also designed to help establish Nissan as a major player in the Brazilian car market. It currently has a 3 per cent market share, but a model like this proves it commitment. Designed at Nissan Design America in San Diego, it was built in Brazil – and is the first Nissan concept to make its world debut here.
“This car say we don’t want to give Brazil our restyled leftovers from other markets, we want to build them beautiful cars that are specific to their needs,” Bauer told us.
Under the bonnet is the 98bhp three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine from the Micra, which Nissan says offers the perfect combination of sportiness and affordability that this car would need to succeed.
