    - Motorizações previstas:
    • V6 Hibrido
    • 5.0 V8 (já presente no RC-F com 468cv)
    • V8 Bi-Turbo com ~600cv para o LS-F

    The current Lexus LS flagship sedan has been with us since the 2007 model year. It was given a major update for 2013 that will see the car up to the end of its life, expected to be the 2016 model year. The good news is that a new generation of the LS is planned for the 2017 model year, and according to Motor Trend it will be unlike any previous generation of the car.

    While the previous LS sedans have targeted stately sedans like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Lexus insiders say the next version will target the sportier end of the segment, comprised of models like the Jaguar XJ, Porsche Panamera and perhaps even a new offering from Infiniti. This means we could be looking at a new four-door coupe for the 2017 Lexus LS.

    And the new car should have the performance to back up its shapely form. The base model is expected to be powered by a version of Lexus’ new 5.0-liter V-8 debuting in the 2015 RC F. A new LS H model will also be offered, powered by a V-6-based hybrid setup, and at the top of the range should sit an LS F complete with a twin-turbocharged version of the base model’s V-8 good for 600 horses.

    According to the same Motor Trend report, this three-tiered powertrain lineup will also be offered in a production version of the stunning Lexus LF-LC coupe concept,the new SC. The new SC is also expected to arrive for the 2017 model year and will share its platform with the new LS.

      Próximo Lexus LS irá ser "mais emocional", segundo o vice-presidente da Lexus (Europa), Alain Uyttenhoven - Autocar

      The next-generation Lexus LS will remain the company’s flagship but become “more emotional”, according to the company’s European boss Alain Uyttenhoven.

      Speaking to Autocar, Uyttenhoven said: “The LS will remain the pinnacle of the range and have the highest price point.”

      He also denied rumours that the luxury saloon was going to adopt a Porsche Panamera-style liftback: “You have to understand how our customers use these cars. In the US if they want to carry things they also have a pick-up and in China most of them are driven, while they sit in the back.”

      Uyttenhoven refused to be drawn on the details of what is meant by “more emotional”, but it’s likely to include more distinct styling for the next LS.

      “It’s not good for the brand to have ‘Russian doll’ styling,” he said. “We’re not chasing market share so we need to make cars that people notice, cars that polarise opinion so that people love them or don’t like them. We also need to trade on Japanese differentiation, design and attention to detail.”

      Following the successful introduction of the new Audi Q5-rivalling Lexus NX to Europe it’s likely that the company will expand its SUV portfolio too. An all-new, larger, RX is due next year, although it’s likely to remain as a five-seater.

      There’s also the possibility of a smaller model. designed to compete with the Mercedes GLA and BMW X1, though the business case would have to stand up.

      “We could go smaller,” Uyttenhoven admitted. “It could make sense for the brand. Though we will never chase volume at any cost.”

      The current iteration Lexus LS – which starts from £71,995 in the UK – has been on sale since 2007, and the replacement is slated to arrive in 2016.

          Este é um mercado de nicho na europa, infelizmente, ou se torna referencial em alguma coisa importante que o torne mesmo exclusivo e especial, ou então continua a ser afogado pelos tratores diesel alemães, que, pelo facto de não ter motorização diesel nunca vai singrar cá.


          De qualquer forma vamos esperar para ver

            EXTERIOR DESIGN
            The LF-FC features a fresh new styling theme that embodies Lexus’ “L-finesse” design philosophy. From every angle, the sedan is aggressively elegant, exuding the spirit of a grand touring vehicle. An evolved version of Lexus’ signature grille with a new mesh design dominates the front, while floating “L-shaped” daytime running lights (DRL) extrude flawlessly from the front fenders. The rear is highlighted by striking new taillights that adopt the same floating theme as the DRL.

            When seen from its profile, the LF-FC’s true character is revealed. The roofline flows from front to rear in the manner of a “4-door coupe,” suggesting that this vehicle isn’t just meant for straight highways, but to also be enjoyed on twisty roads. The sporty 21-inch aluminium wheels with carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) rims, add an extra dose of flair to what is already a dynamically styled machine.

            INTERIOR DESIGN
            The spacious interior of the LF-FC has been designed to wrap its occupants in a comfortable yet futuristic environment, while providing the driver with a highly-functional cockpit. The cabin has been designed in two sections, top and bottom. The top conveys a sense of openness, allowing the driver to concentrate on the road ahead without feeling constrained.
            When seen at eye level, the front seats seem to be floating. The rear seats have been designed for those who enjoy being driven, offering a reclining feature and plenty of head and knee space. High-quality aniline leather on the seats, doors and dashboard enhances the level of luxury of the interior.

            TOUCHLESS TECHNOLOGY
            Highlighting the new technology inside the LF-FC is an advanced human machine interface that can be operated by simple hand gestures, without the need to touch a panel or controls. A small holographic image on the centre console indicates where the system can interpret your hand gestures to control the audio system and ventilation.

            POWERTRAIN

            At the heart of the LF-FC is a high output fuel cell power system that energizes the rear wheels, and also sends power to two in-wheel motors in the front, making the LF-FC all-wheel-drive. This innovative drive system allows precise torque distribution control between the front and rear wheels, giving the full-size sedan exceptional dynamic handling and superior road stability. The strategic placement of the fuel-cell stack at the rear of the vehicle, power control unit at the front and T-formation configured hydrogen fuel tanks result in front and rear weight distribution optimal for a sporty sedan.

            SAFETY
            Using automated driving technologies, with elevated traffic environment recognition, prediction, and judgment function, the LF-FC provides a safe and efficient driving experience for its occupants and supports the vision of a world without traffic accidents.

                              Muito feiinho... Por dentro está excelente, mas ainda não ao nível de um classe S...

                              Para mim o LS mais bonito foi o de 2007... O modelo a seguir já vinha com essa grelha que não tem nada a ver com o posicionamento luxuoso do carro no mercado.

                                  Por incrível que pareça gostei. O carro tem grandes proporções, e a grelha já parece melhor integrada (se bem que ainda seja um pouco exagerada).
                                  E que grande salto no interior!!! Infinitamente mais harmonioso que a geração anterior dos Lexus. Não é sumptuoso como um Mercedes mas segue bem a linha de um Série 7 por exemplo.

                                  É bom ver que estão a conseguir evoluir estes elementos de design em algo mais consensual.
