O CEO da Honda Takanobu Ito acabou de anunciar as linhas de orientação da marca para a próxima década. Não divulgou nada de extraordinário, nem fez qualquer referência a veículos desportivos, pelo menos no discurso não encontro palavras como "sport" ou "fun".
Sistema Híbrido IMA - a Honda vai generalizar o sistema IMA a outros modelos da marca no mercado interno. O primeiro modelo será o Jazz/Fit já no próximo Outono. Para além disso, a Honda vai continuar a desenvolver baterias, sendo que, a próxima geração do Civic Hybrid já contará com baterias de iões de lítio.

Novos motores Otto - a Honda vai continuar a apostar no R&D de novos motores e transmissões com toda a gama revista em 2012. Sinceramente, espero que voltem a ser líderes. Fala-se também no novo sistema A-Vtec do qual a Honda tem a patente desde 2005 mas nunca introduzido pois parece ser mais complicado do que os anteriores sistemas. Talvez algo mais "simples" como o Multiair da FIAT. A Honda também vai introduzir uma nova transmissão DCT, isto tendo em conta que já o fez para as motos, pelo menos já o fez com a VFR1200.
Motores Diesel - uma das grandes novidades, novo motor diesel para a Europa em 2012, provavelmente para a nova geração Civic.
FCEV - a Honda vai continuar a investir no FCX, para bem da marca espero que seja o futuro pois o investimento tem sido brutal. A produção de cada unidade do FCX ronda 1 milhão $.
EV - outra novidade, apesar de não ser nada de novo para a marca. A aposta será sobretudo no EUA e Japão a partir de 2012.
