"Dodge is rumoured to be utilising McLaren’s expertise to extract more grunt from the Viper’s mighty V10 engine. This higher power version is expected to be introduced in 2007 as a stopgap prior to an all-new Viper in ’08."
"Several of these prototypes were spotted out testing, the McLaren link rumoured due to the ASC (American Speciality Cars) McLaren tweaked Diamondback Viper that was shown at the ’06 Detroit show. The V10 engine in standard guise is relatively simple so it’s thought that achieving 650bhp or more would be easily achievable, without having to resort to forced induction. Externally there’s little to differentiate the new car from the current model. "
"The additional power will allow the Viper to reach 62mph faster than the current 500bhp car’s 3.9 seconds, 200mph also a distinct possibility. Expect a US unveiling early next year. "
