Austerity, poverty, high unemployment, poor integration
of immigrants and refugees, no hope. Same problem that sparked riots in
France.

I remember the Britain of the 70s when I would spend a month each year
visiting relatives and travelling. The racial and economic problems
were evident even then but were overshadowed by the Irish problem and
fear of terrorism. Even then, there were immigrant ghettos in London and the
industrialized cities of the Midlands and tensions were running high.
Work was hard to get, the poor were marginalized and housing was a
physical mess. The seeds apparently have bloomed over the last few years and
they were watered by a failing economy, class
distictions/segregation and a frustrated under employed
youth form all races in the country. Something we, but also the U S
especially, might want to take note of.
