HOME DEBUT
The Lancia Gamma was shown for the first time in public at the Turin Motor Show, the SUV that with the smaller Ypsilon will lead the rebirth of the brand also at an international level. The name recalls the model of the 70s, from which it takes the shape of a coupe, the arched roof and the particularly sloping rear window, but its layout is that of a modern SUV.
467 cm long, 189 cm wide and 166 cm high, the Range incorporates some of the stylistic features introduced with the latest generation of the Ypsilon, such as the "goblet" lights composed of three thin luminous blades both front and rear. The side is clean, thanks also to the retractable handles, which optimize the aerodynamic flow, while the roof descends continuously towards the rear, giving the silhouette a softer and more harmonious shape.
THERE IS THE COFFEE TABLE
On the streets of Turin, the interior of the new Lancia Gamma was also shown to the public, which shows a passenger compartment full of personality and with clear references to the style introduced with the Ypsilon. The most obvious point of union between the two models is undoubtedly the round central "table", which houses the plate for wireless charging for smartphones.
Clean, minimalist and technologically advanced, the passenger compartment shows a dashboard on which the multimedia system display stands out, flanked by a digital instrument panel. The two-spoke steering wheel, with the new Lancia brand logo, features integrated controls, while the seats are upholstered in a ribbed quilted fabric.
A classy detail is the Italian tricolor flag positioned laterally on the side of the seat. For the first time we also see the trunk, which appears spacious and well finished, also equipped with a practical double bottom to maximize flexibility of use.
HYBRID AND THREE ELECTRIC
Produced in Melfi together with its French cousin DS N°7, one of the most used engines by the Stellantis group is also under the bodywork of the Lancia Gamma, namely the three-cylinder 1.2 turbo mild hybrid with 145 hp, combined with the automatic transmission, credited with a total range of more than 1,000 km.
If this will presumably be the best-selling version in Italy, there will be no shortage of electric proposals, divided into three versions: the 230 hp entry version with 540 km declared, a 245 hp one capable of exceeding 740 km with a recharge and, at the top, the 375 hp all-wheel drive twin-motor variant, which promises up to 675 km of travel.
