      olha que ouvi dizer que dentro de 2 anos a audi tenciona entrar na F1 visto já lá andar a mercedes e a bmw(competitores directos) e aí sim a F1 vai ser bem interessante!!!

                Head Up display usando Laser

                citação:German car magazine "Auto Motor und Sport" is reporting that Audi is planning to use head-up displays with laser projection soon.
                This is just the first step regarding the high information density and the need for new displays.
                According to Willibert Schleuter, responsible for electric and electronic development, Audi will display such information like speed and driving directions from the navigation system.
                The laser projection will be used to reach better contrast and better pictures.

                In future it is planned to also show and mark traffic signs, distance warnings or to display the navigation arrows directly "on" the real streets.
                In mid-term not only a small part of the front window shall be used, it is planned to use the whole window. This is currently tested in the "Electronics Research Laboratory" (ERL) in the US.

                      Detroit, MI – For the second consecutive year, the subscribers of AutoWeek magazine have named the Audi A8 as the Best Luxury Car in their “America’s Best” Awards. Despite the fierce competition in this segment, Audi’s much acclaimed A8 sedan once again came out in first place.

                      Audi first brought this generation A8 to these shores in June of 2003 as the A8 L with its abundant luxury features, standard quattro® permanent all-wheel drive, aluminum construction and dynamic driving experience. Now the A8 is available in two additional versions both with quattro all-wheel drive as standard: the A8 with its shorter wheelbase for more dynamic driving and the A8 L W12 with its 450 horsepower W12 engine and long list of exclusive features which mark this sedan as the best of the best.

                      Earlier this year the A8 was named Automobile Magazine’s 2005 All-Star Luxury Sedan, the winner of Edmunds.com’s Top 10 Cars for CEOs in the “Under $75,000 For Work” category and received Consumer Guide’s “Best Buy” rating in the Premium Luxury Car category.

                      This year’s results appear in the July 4, 2005 issue. According to AutoWeek, it is in this competition where their subscribers choose the hottest, sexiest, most desirable cars, trucks and SUVs in the land. These awards have been held every year since 1990.

                        A Audi quer tornar-se na marca líder a nível mundial do segmento premium até ao final da década.

Over 78,700 new cars (June 2004: 67,721) were handed over to customers worldwide. This is equivalent to an increase of 16.3 percent compared with the same month last year. The number of vehicles sold worldwide in the first six months rose by 8.2 percent compared with the same period one year previously, to just under 422,000 vehicles (January to June 2004: 389,913). The Audi A3 Sportback, launched last September, and the Audi A6 made a significant contribution to this total, with sales of 70,000 and 90,100 vehicles (up 16.8 percent compared with the prior-year period) respectively.

                        By selling more than 400,000 vehicles in the first six months of the year for the first time in company history, Audi has set another new sales record.
                        "In the first six months we have created the ideal conditions for another record year," said Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Management at AUDI AG. "We will substantiate this success by continuing it in the second half of the year. Now that the Audi A3 has been introduced with the single-frame grille, virtually all our young and sporty model range has the unmistakeable Audi face. This forms the basis for our future models, such as the Audi Q7, the completely new, sporty SUV which we will be launching in early 2006, and the Le Mans quattro, a thoroughbred sports car."

                        Winterkorn confirmed that his goal is for Audi to become the leading premium brand worldwide by the end of the decade. He wants to increase annual sales in the mid-term by more than one million Audi cars.

                        "June sales in Germany and Western Europe were particularly satisfactory," said Ralph Weyler, AUDI AG Board Member for Marketing and Sales. "With sales in Germany totalling 25,000 vehicles, we recorded an increase of 16.7 percent compared with the same month last year (21,412) and, in doing so, defied the market trend." After an equally successful May (8 percent), Audi’s market share remained at a high level in June at 7.3 percent (previous year: 6.5 percent). Compared with the prior-year period, vehicle sales in Germany were up in the first six months by over 10 percent to 126,100 (114,169). With a market share of 7.5 percent in the first six months, Audi has maintained its record level in Germany.

                        Audi achieved sales records in the first six months in 12 of 20 markets in Western Europe. Great Britain, the biggest European export market, with sales of around 45,100 vehicles (41,805, up 7.9 percent), Spain with 28,700 vehicles (23,742, up 20.8 percent) and France with around 22,600 vehicles (18,451, up 22.3 percent) deserve a special mention. Sales in Western Europe (excluding Germany) were up by 13.8 percent to 194,500 (170,991) vehicles. New sales records were set in 28 markets worldwide in the first half of 2005.

                              As we all know, Audi is planning to introduce quite a broad selection of new performance models. The big issue to be resolved is what engine to put in each one so that they have unique customer appeal, don't cannibalise existing model sales of other ranges, and don't overlap too much so that they end up competing with each other, instead of BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

                              The key questions are which of these models will offer a V-10, a V-8 or both and which of these will have an additional turbo version. Based on my knowledge of recent discussions within Audi, the current engine configurations being considered are as follows:

                              R9: V-10 (550 bhp) or V-8 (420 bhp) or both
                              S8: V-10 (450 bhp)
                              Q7: V-10 (450 bhp)
                              RS6: V-10 (550 bhp)
                              S6: V-10 (450 bhp) or V-8 (420 bhp)
                              A4 coupe and convertible (possibly called A5): V-10 (450 bhp) or V-8 (420 bhp) or both
                              RS4 saloon and avant: V-8 (420 bhp)
                              S4 saloon and avant: V-8 (350 or 380 bhp)

                              (N.B. all V-8s will soon be FSI to comply with EURO IV emission requirements. All power outputs are in the ball park )

                              This is clearly an impressive line-up of new performance models. But given that the price of oil is unlikely to come back below $50 a barrell anytime soon and that Formula 1 is returning to V-8 engines, the appeal of V-10s may be shortlived.

                              The risk for Audi could be an extremely costly investment in an expensive line-up of gas-guzzlers with monstrous performance that don't sell. Consequently, as reported elsewhere, I expect high-performance models with powerful common-rail V-8 diesels to make a wider appearance.

                              What is also likely is that a less high-revving version of the RS4's engine is likely to appear with a turbo. It will deliver similar power, but better fuel consumption. In other words, RS4 engine is likely to be unique and only fitted to a few models.

                                      Bastou-me cerca de 1 minuto para encontrar um defeito de fabrico no interior de um A6 que tava num stand da Audi!

                                      O plástico que fica por cima da nossa cabeça, onde tem as luzes de cortesia, comando da garagem, etc. estava mal montado...

                                            The Audi A6 has been awarded the prize for the ‘Best Exterior Design’ at the inaugural Wheels Automotive Design Awards (WADA) in Sydney, Australia.

                                            The Wheels Automotive Design Awards (WADA), announced yesterday, were established by Wheels magazine in conjunction with the Australian Design Awards. The awards celebrate both the art and science of car design, clearly highlighting Australia’s best-looking and most cleverly-designed motor vehicles.

                                            In winning the ‘Best Exterior’ award, the Audi A6 was described as ‘Radiating quality from every shutline, pore and taut surface of its being. Audi’s new A6 is the deserved winner of the WADA award for exterior excellence.’

                                            In the words of one of the judges, the A6 wears its sheetmetal like tightly drawn skin stretched over a frame.

                                            According to Wheels editor, Ged Bulmer, “Survey after survey proves that styling – how a car looks – is the highest priority after price for most new-car buyers.”

                                            “People care about how they look in their cars, but, increasingly, they also think about how they work. These awards (WADA) recognise that important mix of form and function,” Bulmer added.

                                            An eclectic panel of 11 judges – ranging from motoring journalists, (including well-known former Autocar scribe, Peter Robinson) to architects, and from fashion editors to professional designers – came together to cast a critical eye over the 13 finalists shortlisted during the judging process.

                                            Wheels is read by almost 400,000 Australians every month and is recognised as Australia’s foremost motoring magazine.

O Audi Q7 combina engenhosamente, a versatilidade desportiva, a tecnologia avançada e a sofisticação, que caracterizam um veículo de categoria premium.


                                                  Na estrada, ele surpreende pela performance e condução dinâmica de um carro desportivo. Fora dela, redefine o conceito da sua classe.
                                                  O Q7, é um veículo que, visto de fora, não esconde as suas qualidades, cuja tecnologia promete um excelente desempenho, em quaisquer condições. Audi Q7 - a performance SUV do criador da tecnologia quattro.

                                                  O Audi Q7, traz novas tendências no seu design exclusivo. O dinamismo, inerente à Audi, revela-se na longa curva do tejadilho e na ampla superfície lateral do veículo relativamente à área mais estreita das janelas.

O diferencial que alimenta as quatro rodas, dentro e fora de estrada, proporciona a máxima tracção e estabilidade - os pré-requisitos essenciais, para uma condução dinâmica e segura. Este conceito de condução tem sido rigorosamente seguido pela Audi, nos últimos 25 anos, aplicado em mais de 2 milhões de veículos produzidos e, comprovado em inúmeras vitórias conseguidas em provas desportivas.

                                                  Tal como o Audi RS4, o Q7 dispõe da última geração do diferencial Torsen, com uma distribuição de binário 40:60 (à frente e atrás). As vantagens para o condutor - também graças à distribuição assimétrica do binário - são uma melhor precisão e agilidade, diminuindo ao mesmo tempo, habituais correcções de trajectória derivadas da força de tracção.

                                                  O chassis do Audi Q7, que é constituído maioritariamente por alumínio - com suspensão independente e travões de disco ventilados, à frente e atrás - reforça ainda mais as suas qualidades dinâmicas. A suspensão com molas em aço e as barras duplas para auxiliar o amortecimento, foram desenhadas para proporcionar uma condução desportiva, sem comprometer o elevado nível de conforto, mesmo fora de estrada.
                                                  A inclinação do conjunto mola e amortecedor traseiros, reduzem o seu posicionamento em altura e possibilitam mais espaço interior.

                                                  As jantes de liga-leve de 18" com pneus 235/60 (255/55 no motor de 8 cilindros), vêm de série. Todas as versões do Q7, dispõe ainda de jantes de 19" e 20", como opcional.

                                                  Também disponível como opcional é a suspensão pneumática. A combinação da suspensão de ar com um sistema de amortecedores de controlo automático, representa a síntese perfeita de uma condução verdadeiramente desportiva e de extremo conforto em viagem. O sistema dinâmico de estabilização, reduz ao mínimo a oscilação do habitáculo, ao longo do eixo longitudinal.

                                                  Distância do solo variável - Também a distância do solo pode ser regulada. Esta distância pode ir de 180 mm a 240 mm, o que significa que o modo off-road, com 205mm de altura ao solo, permite a condução confortável em piso irregular.
                                                  A plataforma de carga, apresenta uma característica bastante funcional, podendo ser rebaixada de forma a permitir carregar facilmente objectos pesados.

                                                  A alta tecnologia não domina apenas os aspectos dinâmicos do Q7. Ele vem equipado de série com o inovador sistema MMI (Multi Media Inteface) - já sobejamente elogiado no A6 e no A8 - que incluem uma variedade adicional de funcionalidades.

                                                  Ao avaliar a performance SUV, verifica-se que um número significativo de sistemas de apoio ao condutor, introduzidos pela primeira vez na produção, estão disponíveis como equipamento opcional: "Audi side assist" - sistema de ajuda à mudança de faixa, que funciona através de radar, e o avançado sistema de parqueamento com câmara traseira e sensores acústicos.

                                                  O ESP inclui várias novas funcionalidades, tais como um sistema de ajuda em descida e, um modo especial "off-road", que optimiza o desempenho dos travões e a tracção em pisos irregulares. O sistema de estabilização de reboque, reduz o risco de oscilação, através da acção controlada dos travões.

                                                    Teve para ser uma 1.9 mas ouve uma confusão com a encomenda e.... lá acabei por ir para uma 2.0.
                                                    Único extra é a Pintura Metalizada, preta.

                                                    Agora tenho que meter-lhe uma bola de reboque.
                                                    Na Audi dizem-me que encomendando agora só daqui a 1mês e meio... estimativa.
                                                    Tou tentado a montar uma bola fora do concessionário.
                                                    Só fico com sérias dúvidas das ligações electricas, no painel acende-se uma luz caso haja problemas com as luzes de reboque.
                                                    Duvido que aí por fora me façam as ligações como deve de ser.
                                                    Só o kit electrico na audi são 300 e tal euros.
                                                    Enfim, representantes, prazos...[xx(].
                                                    Estou tentado a ir a Badajoz montar a bola na Audi de lá, se for mais rápido.
