Mas só colocam o Vitara XL, pois o Vitara normal era apenas acceptable quando foi testado pelo IIHS, ficando visível que a carroçaria não aguentaria um impacto mais forte

The Outlander showed overall good performance, stable structures in frontal impact, with the footwell of the PHEV version showing slight worse performance than that of the ICE version.

After the assessment it was confirmed that the result of five stars published for the Outlander in 2022 is also valid for the Plug-in Hybrid version

Mitsubishi Outlander’s 5 stars are extended to the Plug-in Hybrid version
                                              https://www.globalncap.org/news/mits...hybrid-version

The New Car Assessment Programme for Latin America and the Caribbean, Latin NCAP, tested in December 2022 the Misubishi Outlander and achieved five stars. At that time only the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) version was available in the region. As the Plug-in Hybrid version (PHEV) entered the market, Latin NCAP has now tested it to confirm or not that both versions offer the same safety ratings.
The ICE and PHEV versions of the Mitsubishi Outlander have architectural differences due to the powertrain. Therefore, Latin NCAP performed again the frontal impact test as well as dynamic moose tests of the PHEV version for confirmation, which showed slight performance differences within the acceptable margins of Latin NCAP. The Adult Protection box was updated, however the model still robustly reaches the five stars requirements. The PHEV version of the Mitsubishi Outlander is Latin NCAP’s first ever test of a car fitted with a center airbag, a safety item already required in other markets like Europe and the US to reach good scores in local consumer tests and that Latin NCAP will consider for future assessments. The Mitsubishi Outlander made in Japan, achieved five stars. The Outlander with seven airbags (two frontal, one driver knee airbag, two side body and two side head curtain airbags) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) as standard, achieved 87.11% in Adult Occupant, 91.33% in Child Occupant, 54.71% in Pedestrian Protection and Vulnerable Road Users and 84.17% in Safety Assist. The car was tested in frontal impact, side impact, side pole impact, whiplash, pedestrian protection, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) city and interurban, Blind Spot Detection and ESC. The Outlander showed overall good performance, stable structures in frontal impact, with the footwell of the PHEV version showing slight worse performance than that of the ICE version. The model showed adequate to good protection in the crash tests and dynamic tests for adults and almost full protection for child occupants. The model was tested as a voluntary decision of the manufacturer. After the assessment it was confirmed that the result of five stars published for the Outlander in 2022 is also valid for the Plug-in Hybrid version.

The passenger compartment of the 5 Series remained stable in the frontal offset test. Dummy numbers showed good protection of the knees and femurs of both the driver and passenger. BMW showed that a similar level of protection would be provided to occupants of different sizes and to those sitting in different positions. Protection of all critical body areas was good or adequate for the front passenger and driver.

Analysis of the deceleration of the impact trolley during the test, and analysis of the deformable barrier after the test, revealed that the 5 Series would be a moderately benign impact partner in a frontal collision. In the full-width rigid barrier test, protection of all critical body areas was good or adequate for both the driver and the rear passenger. In the side barrier test, protection of all critical body areas was good and the 5 Series scored maximum points in this part of the assessment.

In the more severe side pole impact, protection of the chest was rated as marginal on the basis of dummy readings of rib compression.

Otherwise, protection was good or adequate. Control of excursion (the extent to which a body is thrown to the other side of the vehicle when it is hit from the far side) was good. The 5 Series has a counter-measure to mitigate against occupant to occupant injuries in such impacts and this performed well in the pole impact test. Tests on the front seats and head restraints demonstrated good protection against whiplash injuries in the event of a rear-end collision. A geometric analysis of the rear seats also indicated good whiplash protection. The 5 Series has an advanced eCall system which alerts the emergency services in the event of a crash. The car also has a system which applies the brakes after an impact, to avoid secondary collisions. BMW demonstrated that, if the car entered water, the doors and windows of the 5 Series would remain functional long enough to allow the occupants to escape.

In addition, the driver’s knee airbag deployed in a way that provided no protection to the inboard leg, attracting a further penalty.

The VF8 has a counter-measure to mitigate against occupant to occupant injuries in such impacts. However, in Euro NCAP's test, the heads of the driver and front passenger made contact and protection was rated as poor.

However, the side curtain airbag deployed incorrectly, getting trapped on the interior trim, and a penalty was applied to the head. The same penalty was applied in the side pole test.
