Souberam mexer bem sem estragar, ficou com um aspecto muito mais sério e não de versão low cost dos actuais muscle cars como tinha até agora. Muito bom. E melhor ainda por terem mexido totalmente no (desinspirado, pobre e tristonho) interior, adoro o desenho do painel de instrumentos, só não achei piada à colocação dos comandos de ventilação numa zona q parece inacessível, e à manutenção da caixa de aspecto foleiro. Tirando isso, esteticamente parece ter evoluído 150%, vamos ver se o mesmo aconteceu por baixo destas mudanças e como se porta junto dos seus também renovados rivais!

News: It’s official: Supercharged 6.2 Hemi
After literally years of rumors, the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT became official today, with a “600-plus horsepower” Hellcat engine. The 392 Challenger SRT will return for 2015, as well.
Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of Dodge, said, “Dodge is the Mainstream Performance brand, and now combined with SRT, we are able to unleash a true GT car with an all-new driver-focused interior and the TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission combined with the most powerful V-8 Chrysler has ever produced. The Challenger Hellcat has been released!”
Production is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2014.
Dodge has not released the power rating of the supercharged Hemi engine, but said its horsepower rating would be the highest of any V8 in Chrysler’s history (the second highest belongs to the current Challenger SRT’s 392 Hemi engine, at 485 hp.)
The new V-8 engine can be mated with an upgraded six-speed manual transmission or a beefy new TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic.
The breakthrough supercharged engine uses a forged-steel crankshaft with induction-hardened bearing surfaces, which can withstand firing pressures of 110 bar (1,595 psi) – the equivalent of five family sedans standing on each piston, every two revolutions. Its unique crank damper has been tested to 13,000 rpm.
High-strength, forged-alloy pistons, developed using advanced telemetry measurement, are coupled to powder-forged connecting rods with high-load-capacity bushings and diamond-like-carbon-coated piston pins.
The supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V-8 has heat-treated aluminum-alloy cylinder heads optimized for superior thermal conductivity, with Hemi Orange die-cast aluminum rocker covers.
The 392 engine power has been upgraded from 470 to 485 horsepower, with torque climbing from 470 to 475 lb-ft. It, too, can be paired with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic.
