i Pedelec: Bicicletas eletricas? (RWD ou FWD?)
Corniche, Shadow: Isto não é da RR?
Wraith: Hum! Alguém andou a ver o Stargate?
dá para vê-la nesta foto.
BMW has revealed an electric folding bicycle at the opening on of its first showroom dedicated to the BMW i sub-brand. A near production-ready version of the BMW i3 concept was also shown.
The BMW i Pedelec concept’s name comes from a merging of the words pedal, electric and concept. It is a folding bicycle that uses an electric motor to boost pedaling forces, and once retracted two can fit in the boot of a BMW i3.
It has disc brakes at the front and rear and a three-speed gear hub is integrated in to the motor. The bike’s frame is made from aluminium and carbonfibre.
The electric motor assists the rider up to 16mph, removing the need for it to be insured or registered. It does not require a license or helmet to ride.
A full battery charge is estimated to last between 16 and 25 miles, and the hub motor acts as a generator under braking and when riding downhill. It takes four hours to charge from a domestic power source or from a power source in the i3’s boot.
The i Pedalec is part of BMW's Olympic sponsorship, which sees it heavily promoting its environmentally-friendly transport.

We are just over a month away from the Paris Motor Show, its September run alternates annually with the enormous Frankfurt show. BMW this year is said to make waves in France rather than wait until next year on its home turf, or in early 2013 at Geneva. Making waves, is putting it mildly- outside the huge announcement that was BMWi, this may be the biggest in the history of the BMW brand.
BMW will be changing the wheels its famed engines send power to and changing those famed engines at the same time. That’s right, the front wheel drive car we heard about more than two years ago is finally going to be shown to the world. The architecture it is based on will underpin many models as it is scalable and can be used in front, rear and all wheel drive applications in anything from a BMW, a MINI and even other brands. BMW is targeting the entry level premium buyer looking for a more efficient and compact vehicle, aiming directly at Mercedes Benz and the B Class. While the chassis, drivetrain, electronics and ancillaries will be shared between the 1 GT (as it is rumored to be called) and the next generation F56 MINI, the drive, and style will be individual. Like siblings these products will share many traits but they will be individuals in their own right and target different consumers.
We have also heard that BMW will unveil its latest range of Efficient Dynamics engine offerings- starting with a 3 cylinder. Using a .5l per cylinder the engine family will be scalable from the 3 up to an inline 6. New generations of valvetronic and double vanos are said to be shown by our sources and will increase the performance and efficiencies of all engines across the BMW lineup. Using BMW’s Twin Power approach, these engines will utilize turbo charing and direct injection to eek out everything they can. The 3 cylinders will range from 100hp up to over 200hp in multiple variants.
The Life Cycle Impulse of the BMW 7 Series will also be on display for the first time at an autoshow in addition to other face lifted models. We expect BMW to have an official announcement in regards to its Paris plans in the coming days so stay tuned.

BMW Concept Active Tourer officially unveiled
BMW has officially unveiled the Concept Active Tourer, ahead of its debut at the Paris Motor Show.
Designed to preview the 1-Series GT, the concept is an MPV that combines "comfort and space functionality with dynamic performance and style." As such, it features aerodynamic styling with a prominent grille, LED-infused headlights and a sporty front fascia. There's also an upward sweeping character line, a tailgate-mounted spoiler and 20-inch alloy wheels. Overall, the CAT measures 4,350mm long, 1,834mm wide and 1,560mm tall with a wheelbase that spans 2,670mm.
The cabin incorporates traditional BMW design cues and comes nicely equipped with leather, laminated wood and orange accents. Once behind the wheel, drivers are treated to a digital instrument cluster that has 10.25-inch display which is augmented by a next-generation heads-up display. Other highlights include an infotainment system, spilt folding rear seats and a full-length panoramic sunroof that has Suspended Particle Device (SPD) technology which allows the driver to adjust how much light is let into the cabin.
Motivation is provided by a plug-in hybrid powertrain which features a 1.5-liter TwinPower Turbo engine, an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. It produces a combined output of more than 190 PS (140 kW / 187 hp) and 200 Nm (147 lb-ft) of torque. This enables the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than eight seconds, hit a top speed of approximately 200 km/h (124 mph) and travel more than 30 km (18.6 miles) on electricity alone. In terms of efficiency, BMW expects the concept to average less than 2.5 L/100km (94 mpg US / 113 mpg UK) and have CO2 emissions of less than 60 g/km.
