Gumpert apresenta mais duas variantes do seu Apollo - Genebra 2012
Gumpert sigue mancillando el nombre de Apollo, uno de los dioses más bisexuales y polifacéticos de la historia antigua, y patrón de belleza y juventud. Y no porque el Apollo sea un mal coche, nada más lejos de la realidad. Pero su belleza es... digamos que simplemente complicada.

Tecnológicamente sigue resultando una bestia vitaminada, y en Ginebra se nos ha presentado en las formas Apollo R y Apollo Enraged. El primero es una versión de carreras no matriculable, mientras que el segundo cuenta con un motor llevado hasta los 740 caballos (V8 de origen Audi, como siempre), pero en su caso, se puede matricular y usar por la calle tranquilamente (bueno, eso de tranquilamente...).

Y entre tanto, nosotros nos preguntamos qué ha sido del Tornante, el precioso prototipo diseñado por Touring Superleggera y del que el año pasado se nos prometió que veríamos una versión de producción para dar sucesión al Apollo.

Este ano, entre pequenos e médios fabricantes, já são vários os que não conseguiram aguentar os efeitos da crise mundial.

podem dizer que é um veículo exclusivo e tal e com qualidade, alta performance, etc... mas mesmo assim são carros caríssimos. As pessoas, nesta altura e com a crise, começam a repensar na altura de comprar este tipo de veículos. Só sendo aqueles magnatas do petróleo. Mas mesmo esses a comprarem compram lamb bugatis etc

Gumpert, ¿salvada por um investidor?

Hace tres meses el fabricante de deportivos artesanales Gumpert se declaraba en bancarrota. No pintaban bien las cosas para los alemanes, ya que con una crisis galopante como la que vivimos en Europa, conseguir un inversor no es tarea sencilla. Pero filtraciones de empleados publicadas en Autovisie (revista holandesa del motor), aseguran que el pasado día 15 se cerró un acuerdo con un inversor, destinado a salvar a la compañía de la liquidación.

No se conoce un sólo detalle del inversor, sus intenciones, sus planes de futuro, o el futuro de la plantilla del fabricante. Pero sí que aseguró a los empleados que "el futuro de Gumpert queda asegurado". Preguntando directamente a la marca, lo único que hemos conseguido es una respuesta nada reveladora "no podemos comentar nada al respecto, pero se ofrecerán detalles pronto sobre el futuro de la compañía".

Gumpert Tornante production version leaked

The German sports car maker Gumpert has recently emerged from a provisional insolvency with new orders. Now, freshly filed trademark design drawings of the Gumpert Tornante production version have surfaced.

Looking slightly different than the Touring concept shown last year in Geneva, the production model gets a louvred rear window, horizontal exhaust pipes and Lamborghini Gallardo-inspired taillights. In addition, the front lip spoiler seems slightly updated and the headlight design has also been modestly revised.

The concept came with a bi-turbo V8 engine producing 690 hp (515 kW) which was enough for a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h). Power was transmitted to wheels via a 6-speed semi-automatic gearbox controlled by paddle shifters. For wheels, it had 19-inch alloys up front and 20-inch rims at the back, wrapped around in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

What a better way to tell the automotive world that you're back and alive than making an appearance at one of the most prestigious motor shows of the year.After declaring insolvency last year, Germansupercar maker Gumpert was given stay of execution, thanks to a new and mysterious investor and a fresh batch of orders for its Apollo model, which went on display unchanged at this week's Geneva Motor Show.
The Apollo series uses an Audi-sourced 4.2-liter with twin-turbochargers. According to the automaker's web site, the base version delivers 650PS (641HP) and 850Nm of peak torque for a 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint time of 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 360km/h (224mph).
Gumpert has also promised to introduce a new model series based on the Tornante Concept from last year's Geneva Motor Show before the end of this year.

É oficial, Gumpert está salva

Gumpert puede respirar tranquila. Durante 2012 vivió un proceso de declaración en quiebra, pero también se firmó un memorando de intenciones con un nuevo inversor para salvarla del cierre definitivo. Mientras ese proceso de cambio de manos se cerraba, la firma alemana de deportivos ha seguido en marcha, produciendo nuevas unidades y teniendo una discreta presencia en salones internacionales del automóvil.

En Ginebra dieron la noticia definitiva: ya tienen nuevo dueño (de nombre desconocido) y a partir de ahora se reanudará la idea de introducir más modelos para ampliar la gama y fortalecer la red comercial. El objetivo es asentarse en China. Y es China el principal problema de Gumpert, pues el gasto de haber intentado vender allí fue el que les llevó a la quiebra...

Con el Tornante en camino, tal vez la historia de Gumper empiece ahora a ser más verde. Y es que venden todo lo que son capaces de producir, pero como siempre, la clave no está en vender mucho, sino en ser rentable.

After surviving a near brush with death, Gumpert is back and showing a new model at the Geneva Motor Show.Called the Explosion, the car is an entry-level two-seater with a love it or hate it design penned by Martin Frank. The distinctive carbon fiber and fiberglass reinforced plastic body rides on top of a tubular frame chassis which should ensure the model is relatively lightweight.

Power is provided by a 2.0-liter engine that develops 420 bhp (313 kW) and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft) of torque. It can be connected to a six-speed manual or a six-speed paddle shift transmission which is paired to an all-wheel drive system. This setup enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in approximately three seconds.

The Explosion will go into production later this year and pricing starts at €105,000 ($144,510 / £86,475).

Gumpert Renamed Apollo Automobil; Revealing New Supercar At Geneva

Just after it was revealed that Gumpert had been purchased by a group of Hong Kong investors, new details about the deal have emerged alongside confirmation that a brand new performance car will soon be launched.

For starters, the identity of the investors has been confirmed as Ideal TeamVenture, the same company that purchased De Tomaso just over six months ago. With Gumpert, they are wasting no time in overhauling the company and have renamed it Apollo Automobil GmbH.

In March, at the Geneva Motor Show, Apollo Automobil will unveil what it dubs a “brand new Apollo” currently dubbed the Arrow. There's a potential that this model will be based around the original Gumpert Apollo but at this stage, nothing else about it can be confirmed.

This news is separate from claims that Roland Gumpert, the founder of Gumpert, is also working on a brand new hypercar.

New Apollo Arrow Will Be Based On Glickenhaus' SCG003S

(...)company has announced a collaboration with Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) and Italian manufacturing house Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT), in order to further develop the model.

The Partnership will spawn a radically redesigned Arrow, powered by a naturally-aspirated V12, reserved only for the track, which will be unveiled in Spring 2017. Subsequently, it will be followed by a road-going version which will utilize the same carbon fiber chassis, tech, and engines developed for Jim Glickenhaus. That means the production-spec Arrow will get a 4.4-litre twin turbo V8, which in the case of the SCG003S, produces 750 hp.
