Toyota FT-Bh concept - City Car (Genebra 2012)

Ainda não se sabe bem o que virá daí, se um desportivo para concorrer com o Honda CR-Z, se um familiar compacto, se outra tipologia.
Toyota FT-Bh compact city car concept teased

Toyota has announced they will unveil the FT-Bh concept car at the Geneva Motor Show next month. The new design study is a compact city car that boasts both low emissions and an affordable package.
It will also be lightweight featuring a full hybrid powertrain and will incorporate materials and techniques that are already commonplace in the automotive industry, so don't expect any astonishing innovations. Toyota's intent appears to be to demonstrate the capability to produce a hybrid in such a small model and at an affordable price.
Alongside the FT-Bh concept, Toyota will also give European debuts to NS4 and FCV-R concepts as well as the production GT 86. The Toyota Yaris hybrid will also be there celebrating its world debut.

Toyota FT-Bh pequeno híbrido concept - revelado
The ultra fuel-efficient B-segment car concentrates on being highly responsive and nimble via weight reduction, ultra-efficient powertrain and reduced air resistance. The FT-Bh boasts a fuel efficiency of 2.1l/100 km (NEDC) with CO2 emissions of just 49 g/km which is less than half the current average for B-segment cars.

Weighing only 786kg, the FT-Bh uses a high-tensile-strength steel body structure with a new high-expansion foam material applied throughout the interior. The result is improved interior thermal management in maintaining cabin temperature. This allows for the weight reduction in using light and breathable materials for the seating and interior. The temperature management also allows for other components, including the body frame, chassis and powertrain, to be made lighter.
The FT-Bh uses anewly developed long stroke 1.0-liter, two-cylinder Atkinson cycle gasoline engine along with improved hybrid system.

In addition to the FT-Bh on display, TMC has conceived two alternative versions: a compressed natural gas (CNG) hybrid version with CO2 emissions of 38 g/km and a plug-in hybrid version with CO2 emissions of just 19 g/km.
