From brainchild to wild child in less than a year is an impressive transformation.

It's one the Caparo T1 has undergone, and it's now entering the difficult teenage process of development with the completion of the first running prototype.

Called XP1, this car was driven by creators Graham Halstead and Ben Scott-Geddes for the T1's first-ever trial run.

A second prototype is on the way soon, and both cars will undergo reliability and endurance testing before the first T1s reach customers in March 2007.

Just 24 of the £150,000 T1s are expected to be built per year, but Caparo says it has an order book that will keep it busy for most of next year.

Much of the development driving will be undertaken by racing driver Chris Goodwin, who was also largely responsible for the McLaren F1's development, so he knows a thing or two about honing supercars.

The T1 could give the Bugatti Veyron a run for its money in the acceleration stakes, with 0-60mph expected in 2.4 seconds.

The T1 uses a purpose-built 2.4-litre V8 with 480bhp and has an all-up weight of just 470kg, which gives the car a Veyron-rivalling power-to-weight ratio of 1,000bhp-per-tonne.

Isto é road legal? em termos de perfomances comparam-no com o Veyron. O Veyron deve ser qq coisa... De... Espectacular!
 
Esse texto tem um erro.
O Veyron está longe dos 1000bhp-per-tonne.
Na realidade, devido às suas 2 toneladas, é algo mais do género 500 e poucos bhp-per-tonne.

Esse Caparo T1 será efectivamente, o 1º carro de série e homologado para andar em estrada a atingir a barreira dos 1000bhp-per-tonne ou no nosso sistema 1kg/cv.

O Caparo T1 está homologado para andar em estrada,sem restrições.
É um autêntico formula 1 de estrada![B)]

Vendo pela altura ao solo não sei como consegue passar nas lombas[:0],só se tiver o mesmo sistema dos Ferrari.Ou como é tão leve,os seu ocupantes pegam nele:D.
 
Segundo os seus criadores, este carro tem como principal objectivo ser o melhor "brinquedo" para os track-days, como se sabe, sempre em grande em terras de sua majestade.

Dá para andar em estrada, mas segundo eles, não foi uma prioridade no seu desenvolvimento.

a asa e ajustavel.. 3g a virar e 3g a travar.. ja e preciso alguma condiçao fisica pra extrair tudo deste brinkedo [:I]
 
pois, também já tinha ouvido falar desses g's.
eles vão ter vários setups e o mais extremo permite esses valores...
simplesmente brutal.
isso já não é conduzir, mas sim pilotar.
