Ford C-Max Solar Energi Concept, com painel solar no tejadilho, na CES 2014

The North American based automaker Ford has officially pulled the wraps off the C-Max Solar Energi Concept ahead of its public debut scheduled for 2014 CES, in a world premiere.

The new 2014 Ford C-Max Solar Energi Concept will be making its public debut during the 2014 CES. The model in question has been equipped with a solar roof panel and it’s basically a plug-in hybrid with a battery pack which can also be charged from the sun’s power and not only from an electrical outlet. This is using a concentrator, which was specially developed for this model, which is acting as a magnifying glass, directing the sun’s rays to the solar panels, which have been mounted on the roof.

“Ford C-MAX Solar Energi Concept shines a new light on electric transportation and renewable energy. As an innovation leader, we want to further the public dialog about the art of the possible in moving the world toward a cleaner future”, said the Ford global director of vehicle electrification and infrastructure, Mike Tinskey.

A day’s worth of sunlight can provide, according to the car manufacturer, a total range of 998 km (620 miles), with 108 MPGe / 92 MPGe / 100 MPGe in city / highway / combined and by using this vehicle, the annual gas emission will be reduced by four metric tons per owner each year. Production of the Ford C-Max Solar Energi Concept is under the question mark and tests will be made over the following months to see if this is feasible.

Ford C-MAX facelift spied hiding Aston Martin-inspired grille ahead of Geneva reveal
The Ford C-MAX facelift has been spied possibly one last time ahead of next week's expected official Geneva debut.After fitting the all-new Fusion/Mondeo,facelifted Fiesta and Focus with the Aston Martin grille, Ford is about to apply the same treatment on the refreshed C-MAX. The prototype seen in these spy shots was spotted testing somewhere in northern Europe and it had camouflage only on the front fascia which indicates there won't be any other changes.
It's not very hard to imagine how the C-MAX facelift will look like after checking out official images of the C-MAX Hybrid which came out in the second half of last year. Inside the cabin it could receive the revamped infotainment system launched in the facelifted Focus where it comes with an eight-inch touchscreen color display and SYNC 2 connectivity system.
The mildly updated Ford C-MAX will probably be introduced early March at the 84[SUP]th[/SUP] Geneva Motor Show.

Facelift? Estou para comprar uma Grand C-max de 2012 no máximo, talvez espere mais um pouco para ver se o preço agora baixa mais um pouco tambem!
