1990 - Laguna

The Renault Laguna concept which the French company rolled out at the 1990 Paris Motor Show was a dramatic and futuristic sports car styled by an up and coming designer, Jean-Pierre Ploue, who would later go on to become the design director at PSA-Peugeot-Citroen.

The Renault Laguna concept has nothing in common with the rather run of the mill production Renault Laguna which would appear shortly after. Instead it was intended to be an attention grabbing dream car which would inject some excitement into the company.

The car was extremely low slung, and it was light too. There was no roof, and no proper windscreen. Instead the driver and passenger wore custom made visors, which also had speakers inside to act as the cars audio system. It was far-fetched and impractical to say the least.

Powering the 1990 Renault Laguna concept was a 2.0 litre 4-cylinder engine which produced 210 horsepower. Top speed of the car was 155 mph.

The Renault DeZir is an electric concept car that was first officially presented at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The car is a 2-seat coupe with butterfly doors, and the interior is of red leather. The concept's butterfly doors open like a conventional-butterfly door on the driver's side and a suicide-butterfly door on the passenger's side. It features a 148 hp mid-mountedelectric motor. This gives the concept rivalry with the Audi e-tron, with 0–60 mph (0–97 km/h) in just five seconds and a top speed of 112 mph (180 km/h).The DeZir is the first in a series of concept cars that are paving the way for Renault's future both aesthetically and technologically. The series is modeled after the stages of life that a Renault customer might encounter. In Renault’s own words their customers will fall in love, discover the world, start a family, work, have fun and become wise. The DeZir concept symbolized the love stage, the Captur concept symbolized the discovery stage, the R-Space represented the family stage and the Frendzy represents the work stage.

The Renault Egeus was a concept mid-size luxury crossover SUV presented at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show developed by Renault. It was described as an upmarket 4WD crossover SUV. The Renault Egeus is then succeeded by the Renault Initiale Parisand the Renault Ondelios

Renault Vesta II - 1987

Renault claims that is experimental Vesta 2 is the world's most fuel-efficient gasoline-powered passenger car. On a 313-mile trial run from Paris to Bordeaux, the compact four-seater averaged 63 mph and returned an astonishing average of 146.7 miles per gallon.

The Vista weight only 1040 pounds and boasts a slippery Cd of 0.19. Surprisingly, it offers the same cabin space as a run-of-the-mill Renault 5. The new front-wheel-drive record holder is powered by 716cc, three-cylinder engine that produces 27 bhp at 4250 rpm.
