A próxima de Fifth Gear será a 13ª e de Top Gear será a 11ª.

Na próxima Segunda-feira volta então o Fifth Gear. Aqui está o resumo do programa.

- Tiff Needell starts the new series off in style by meeting the chef constantly in search of perfection: Heston Blumenthal. Heston has always wanted to learn one particular trick behind the wheel – the art of powersliding. Moreover, he has always wanted one particular man to teach him – Tiff Needell.

- Jason Plato drives the Mercedes CLK63 Black.

- The C-Crosser is Citroen’s modern-day equivalent of the old-fashioned 2CV. It is goodlooking, quick and can seat seven people, but does it really represent progress? Jonny Smith comes up with three inventive challenges to out whether the new car is better than the old.

- Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone is a billionaire with an interest in collecting cars. Now he has decided to have a garage clearout and dispose of over 50 of them. Tom Ford gets an advance look at the rare and unusual collection and later attends the official auction. He has cheque book at the ready, but will he be able get his hands on one of Bernie’s cars?

- Vicki Butler-Henderson returns to the revamped Anglesey, the spiritual home of Fifth Gear’s famous shoot-outs. In this week’s duel are two low, light and very fast cars: the Lotus Exige S and the Caterham CSR.

Mais adiante lá para 4 de Março, a NBC vai ter a sua própria versão de Top Gear, o "Gear". Parece que os australianos já não estão sozinhos.

With no speed limits and no rules, Jeremy Clarksson and ’The Stig’ among others, made some tests to decide which car is the best.

Competitors were:
Murcielago LP640
997 GT3
Audi R8
BMW M3
Ariel Atom
Ferrari 599GTB
Caparo T1
Megane R26
Jaguar XKR
Ford GT (Clarkssons previously owned)
Aston Vantage
And the winner is: Audi R8. Reason? Jeremy explains why:

"To own a car means far more than how much mechanical grip you’ve got when you screw up in the wet. Audi R8 is the best car because it makes you stand out from the crowd WITHOUT making you look like a pornstar with complex. What you all forget is that you have to be able to park outside the diner and then enter the car without soiling the interior with ketchup! R8 is fast, as fast as most of the cars, and faster than some of them, but it is still useful. Important when you spend half of your time in traffic jam. The roads on Isle of Man is a playground for cars like this, but a part from a few weeks of the TT-races, it isn’t a race track. If you are obsessed of putting down low track times, you’re better of with a cheap diesel plus a formula car for the track to play with.. When it comes to living here and it pours down and are only one good restaurant on the island which you have to drive to, then you need a REAL car. I also happens to know that The Stig wants an R8 - thats as good as any recommendation for me.. "

Bem, pelo que deu para ver esta semana, o Fifth Gear está a voltar um pouco às origens com o belo do shootout, análise a automóveis actuais que sem ser exaustiva diz o essencial como no caso do Laguna e BLS, o Plato a guiar depressa (e como sempre muito exigente nas análises), o Tiff nos slides e até o Jonny com o c-crosser fez uma análise interessante do carro. Um programa bastante equilibrado e com bastante conteúdo.

- The Most Dangerous Car Stunt We've Ever Done...
