citação:To briefly describe the test process, the aircraft deceleration during full anti-skid braking runs on contaminated runway surfaces is measured. The aircraft braking coefficient is computed from the deceleration data and an average braking coefficient for each run is determined. The braking coefficient is plotted against CRFI to determine a linear fit. The end result is a good correlation between the Falcon 20 braking coefficient and the CRFI on runway surfaces with uniform contamination distribution and minimal contamination drag.
Using the linear fit as a prediction of braking coefficient versus CRFI, a deceleration model is developed. The average deceleration from the model is used to determine braking distance and then overall landing distance. For the Falcon, landing distances from 50 feet to a full stop on a dry runway range from 1,800 feet (which represents minimum gross weight, CRFI = 0.8, sea level, 20 knots head wind) to 4,000 feet (which represents maximum gross weight, CRFI = 0.8, 6,000 feet pressure altitude, 10 knots tail wind).
