Abarth presented in China as "Too hot to handle"
The Auto Show in Shanghai is oncoming, but Abarth has already shown itself in China during a local presentation in Nanjing. The message seems clear; ‘too hot to handle’. Abarth is being marketed as a (more than welcome) hardcore variant of the Fiat 500, which has been available on this market since 2011.
Fiat is not complaining about the sales numbers of the 500 in China (where it is a little more expensive than in the US and Europe), but the brand hopes to severely expand in this region in the near future, meaning it can only get better. That is why they plan on producing the 500 in China (Changsha) sooner or later, so that they can really start competing with brands such as Mini.
