Como otros altos ejecutivos (Marchionne viene a la cabeza), Matthias Müller, CEO del fabricante de deportivos alemán, no cree que el mundo haya dejado atrás lo peor de la crisis económica, y con el risión continuo que estamos viviendo día sí y día también en Europa, por ahora prefiere jugar esta partida con las cartas bien pegadas al pecho.

En declaraciones al diario Financial Times Deutschland, Mueller ha expresado que la crisis todavía "es real", y que todavía han de ver en Porsche "cómo se desarrolla ... Si esto sucede y lleva a un enfriamiento de la industria automovilística, ciertamente podría causar un impacto en nuestra estrategia".

Relativamente à democratização...
Pessoalmente, e num mundo perfeito, preferia que enveredassem por este caminho ao democratizar-se. Sports-cars e GT's em vários tamanhos e feitios, "coladinhos" ao chão, que vulgarizarem-se com veículos utilitários desportivos.

Porsche Baby Boxster Is Apparently Back On Again | 0-60 Magazine

In the latest turn of this Baby Boxster/reborn 550 saga, Porsche bossman Matthias Mueller now says Porsche will indeed build a new roadster to slot beneath the Boxster in the car maker’s lineup. “I can imagine that such a modern version of the famous ‘James Dean’ Porsche would be well-received by our customers,” he reportedly told German newspaperHandelsblatt. The new model—which he pointed out will not feature retro styling—will likely be based on a new mid-engined platform shared with an Audi roadster that would slot between the TT and the R8.Expect the new 550 to come with a selection of four-cylinder boxer engines, the most powerful of which will reportedly make around 360 horses in turbocharged form. (The engine is also expected to find its way into future Boxsters and Caymans, so we doubt the new 550 will top out quite that high.)
We’re hoping this latest announcment will mean an end to Porsche’s waffling on the car’s prospects, so we can move on to anticipating its arrival in the 2016-2017 timeframe. And guys, if you’re reading this, here’s what we want: a curb weight less than 2,600 pounds, an engine that makes at least 300 horsepower, speedster styling, and an honest-to-god manual gearbox.
