2014 Nissan Qashqai será presentado em novembro, plug-in hybrid em 2015
Could resemble the Hi-Cross concept
New details are starting to emerge about the 2014 Nissan Qashqai which is scheduled to be unveiled in November.
Nissan executive vice president Andy Palmer says the model will have an innovative design that will be more upscale than its predecessor. That's not much to go on but the crossover is expected to resemble the Hi-Cross concept which debuted at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
Engine options remain unconfirmed but choices are rumored to include a 1.6-liter diesel as well as a supercharged 1.2-liter petrol that develops 113 bhp (84 kW) and 190 Nm (140 lb-ft) of torque. There will also be a plug-in hybrid variant, but it isn't scheduled to be launched until 2015.
The crossover will reportedly ride on a new modular platform that will eventually be used on several upcoming sedans as well as the next-generation X-Trail. Front-wheel drive will be standard, but all-wheel drive will be optional.
The 2014 Nissan Qashqai will go on sale early next year and pricing is expected to remain similar to today's model.
