...To be continued
m-sport disse:Thats total rubbish. Autoexpress is wrong again.
There is a big demand for the RS outside the UK.
The emissions is not a problem and we are still developing the car.
I don't know where Autoexpress gets its information but we know our customers are prepared to pay £25k+ for the car.
Confirmo.Era um FWD com um LSD da Qaife se não me engano...
First thing is the engine.
The SI6 Turbo weighs the same as the I5 Turbo and is 1 mm longer.
We have started with a clean sheet of paper with the RS and it won't be based on the ST.
I can't go into details but the RS will not have a heavy front end.
The RS will have 18" alloy wheels not 19"s.
We will not be using electric steering on the RS.
The shell will be made stiffer in the facelift.
We learn alot from the WRC Program which we will put the knowledge to the road car.
We've got a Golf R32. The RS will be a completely different animal to the R32. Thats why VW are working on a R36.
The list of cars we are using which are direct compitors to the RS are:-
Evo 9, Impeza STI and the new Audi S3.
We are also working along with Volvo engineers because they will be using the same setup for their car.
M-Sport does not have the space and tooling to do a 1 off in so many units for a road car unlike Prodrive. You would be talking £50k for a road Ford Focus from M-Sport maybe more.
The best thing about being in R & D we have got alot of people who can work these things out and we are not like a small tuners outfit who just modify cars. The RS will be built on a separate production line.
We do have a possibility of a lighweight RS.
I have driven many Audi's and use to own a RS4.
My own track car is a Porsche GT3 RS. I use to own a BMW M3 CSL.
I also own a G4 MK2 Ford Escort for Asphalt rallying.
Fellow engineers on the RS project also own similar cars, so we know what the customer wants. We have just purchased the new Audi S3 to see how Audi have engineered it.
Que mer** é aquela na roda? serve para medir o quê?
