Excesso visual, não é carro para ter este aspecto tunado. Quanto às ópticas, gosto muito mais do aspecto mais limpo das actuais. Mas já lhe vão dar um segundo restyling ou vai passar apenas por pormenores, como as ópticas?

Jaguar has released new footage of the 2012 XKR-S, positively mauling Portugal's Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. As promised, the steroid-fed XK looks to be as fleet-footed as a NASA orbiter, pulling down 60 mph in 4.2 seconds on its way to a 186 mph top speed. It also appears that each and every one of its 542 horses (same as the XJ220) has an insatiable appetite for very expensive tires.

The coolest thing about this big electric blue coupe has to be its evil yowl as heard from inside the garages at the Portimao Circuit. It stands to reason that it should sound good, with a big V8 breathing through what amounts to an open exhaust system, but this big cat has enough aural might to show up even the most hardcore eight-banger from our shores. Esperado para Frankfurt ou para o Salão de Los Angeles, aí está o XKR-S Convertible em testes.

The inevitable convertible version of the stunning 2012 Jaguar XKR-S coupe has been spotted running up some laps at the Nurburgring, with very minimal disguise.

Jaguar’s lack of concern for onlookers identifying the car suggests that its auto show appearance isn’t far, perhaps as early as next month’s 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show but more likely at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show this November.

Jaguar is already expected to unveil a new roadster concept in Frankfurt previewing its future Porsche Boxster rival, so will likely save the debut of this 2012 Jaguar XKR-S Convertible for a later event.

Other than its convertible soft-top roof, the XKR-S Convertible will be much the same as the XKR-S, right down to its supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 complete with 550 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque.

An expected heavier curb weight means acceleration time for the 0-60 mph run could be down on the coupe’s 4.2 seconds figure, however, top speed of the convertible should match the coupe’s 186 mph.

As mentioned, look out for the debut of the 2012 Jaguar XKR-S Convertible later this year, with sales likely to start early next year.

Ya te lo anticipamos hace unos días, y finalmente, hoy que abre sus puertas el Salón de Los Ángeles, ya te podemos facilitar las primeras fotos oficiales del XKR-S Convertible, un bestial descapotable de cuatro plazas, que como en la versión cerrada, tiene un motor V8 sobrealimentado de cinco litros y 550 caballos de potencia máxima.

Con una aceleración de 0 a 100 en 4,4 segundos, y los mismos aditamentos aerodinámicos del XKR-S cupé, este descapotable debería ser capaz de rozar los 300 por hora con facilidad. Un capricho británico para desmelenarse sin tener que acudir a Aston Martin y uno de sus modelos Volante.
