Tom discovers what it’s like to be a paparazzi photographer hot on the trail of celebrities in an unassuming black Kia Cee’d – the perfect car for “spies, getaway drivers and paparazzi”. After a briefing from Big Pictures boss Darryn Lyons he’s off, and soon has Madonna firmly in his sights. But will he come up with a big money picture?

There’s also a big car crash investigation. Two identical cars meet in a head-on collision, one in perfect condition and one which has been badly repaired. The results are shocking and demonstrate the importance of carrying out a vehicle history check before you buy second-hand.

Also this week, Tiff Needell has the first TV test of the car everyone’s talking about: the Audi R8.

And regular racing mogul Jason Plato puts his foot to the floor when he takes the Brabus Rocket, the world’s fastest four-door saloon, to the German Autobahn to try and top 200mph.

And Vicki puts the Fiat Panda 100 HP through a stern test as she races it against a Ferrari around a track –with some surprising results.

In this week’s programme, Vicki Butler-Henderson risks life and limb in the most dangerous car stunt of all: driving a car under a moving lorry without being decapitated! Find out how this Hollywood stunt, worthy of a James Bond movie, is performed in a behind-the-scenes special.

Also this week, World Superbike leader James Toseland races his Honda Fireblade against Tiff Needell in the brand new Civic Type R. They compete in three bike-versus-car challenges to find out who can corner the fastest, who can jump the highest, and who is quickest round one lap. It is spectacular stuff – particularly when James overtakes Tiff at 100mph... on one wheel.

‘Red Dwarf’ actor Chris Barrie is this week’s special guest, and gets to drive his dream car, a Jaguar D-Type worth £3 million. Out on the race circuit Chris is racked with nerves – one false move and the priceless car gets written off...

In a new strand called Driven to Destruction, a car’s durability is tested in a unique way. This week sees the team find out how crucial oil is to an engine: just how far can you drive on an empty sump before something goes bang?

And Tom Ford tests the new Alfa Romeo Spider by driving it through the Sahara desert, while Jonny Smith tests the new Mercedes C Class and its revolutionary seat design that reduces pressure on the pubic bone.

É hoje o primeiro Fifth Gear da nova temporada.

Enquanto não chega, aqui fica o resumo para dia 14 de Maio.

This week, Tiff Needell employs the help of two beautiful models to test the theory that the quicker you drive a convertible, the less your hair blows about. He blasts the brand new Bentley Continental GTC up to 150mph on an airfield, and nearly runs out of runway...

Elsewhere, Virgin Radio Breakfast Show DJ Christian O’Connell is challenged to perform a stunt-driving routine, after some expert tuition from world famous precision driver Russ Swift. All does not go according to plan, however, as Christian loses his no claims bonus – several times over.

Tom Ford plays in the amazing new Lexus LS460 – a car so clever it can drive itself. He tests its latest gadgets, which steer the car automatically between the white lines of a motorway. Combined with cruise control, it means you literally don’t have to touch any controls.

In Driven to Destruction, we find out how much abuse a windscreen can take. Borrowing techniques used by the aerospace industry, frozen chickens are fired at a selection of windscreens with some surprising results.

The new Smart Fortwo is supposedly more comfortable than ever before and better suited to long journeys, so Jonny Smith locks himself inside one for 12 hours. It’s an extreme test of comfort – but will he cope?

Also this week, Vicki Butler-Henderson finds out the secrets behind the cult movie ‘C’etait un Rendezvous’ – a nine-minute film of a Ferrari hurtling through the streets of Paris. With Snow Patrol using it as the promotional video for their single ‘Open Your Eyes’, Vicki visits the very route where the film was made to have a go at making
her own version.

"I know his car knowledge wasn't brilliant, but he had the layman's perspective. He's pursuing other projects."

Vicki Butler-Henderson's is talking about her co-host Tim Lovejoy. He won’t be returning to the screen in the upcoming series of Channel 5's motoring show Fifth Gear.
Tim's decision to leave the programme comes after criticism from some quarters about his knowledge of cars – or lack of it.

"I really enjoyed working with him – it was fun, so I'm quite sad he's not doing it anymore, but he's busy doing his other shows like Soccer AM. Never mind. The producers decided to use the same format but bring in the other presenters, Tom Ford and Tiff Needell to fill Tim's place. It'll be good, because we can talk about cars a bit more."

Segundo eles dizem no site, a nova temporada leva em consideração as sugestões que os espectadores no fórum que está na página do programa. Era cada post sobre o Lovejoy......

A conversa no café continua mas agora com o Tom e o Tiff. Sempre achei que aquela parte do café era desnecessária. Pode ser que melhore.

agora é esperar que não abusem das palhaçadas e que façam testes entusiasmantes e bem pensados....
 
Parece que o Vuk anda a dormir... E além dele todos os outros que costumavam fazer o serviço que ele fazia! :(
 
Bem, e eu a pensar que iam aparecer logo alguns ficheiros para sacar e nem um. Ninguém se deu ao trabalho. Mesmo o tipo que meteu o R8 no YouTube, não colocou mais nenhum. Eu costumava colocar alguns segmentos mas sem o episódio nada feito.

Penso que o programa repete aos sábados. Pode ser que apareça alguma coisa. Ao que parece o programa até foi porreiro.
