Apesar dos excelentes resultados para a época, em 1993 e somente em 1995/6 o A4 e o Passat conseguiram resultados melhores, denota-se que a caroçaria do Classe C estava, no limite da sua resistência o que se veio o comprovar no crash test do Euroncap.
Também os fracos resultados obtidos no crash test lateral feito pela Autobild, seguem em linha os maus resultados obtidos no Euroncap.
Seria interessante que o crash test, contra barreira indeformável fosse um dos testes obrigatorios.
Contudo as reportagens da AMS mesmo tendo em conta as limitações técnicas que existiam no inicio dos anos 90, muito mais completas e de mais facil interpretação do que as do Euroncap

A primeira vítima do trio PSA a ser vítima do Euroncap não obteve os resultados que se esperam, de um carro recentemente lançado.
O DS4 apenas conseguiu 4 estrelas, sendo o mais preocupante as avaliações de marginal no peito do condutor nos dois embates frontais e laterais.
De destacar ainda o facto do DS4 não conseguir 100% no campo da ajudas à condução, mesmo contando a dupla Citroen/Peugeot com a ajuda da Opel que ao longo dos anos 90 e não só esteve na linha da frente, no desenvolvimento de sistemas de segurança ativa e passiva.

La teremos que esperar por Maio para ver, se o Euroncap vai testar o 308 e o Astra. Aliás teria sido interessante terem testado o DS4, o 308 e o Astra ao mesmo tempo, e após os testes despirem os veículos para estudarem e DIVULGAREM, as diferenças e semelhanças encontradas

Lembrei-me já que ao ver ai o crash test do DS4

Os únicos carros elétricos que não têm problemas neste teste, são os carros elétricos de raiz, isto é, Teslas, Zoes, etc...
Os híbridos sofrem bastante com a questão da colocação e do peso das baterias. Mesmo a Mercedes Classe E híbrida 4x4, sem suspensão adaptativa tem dificuldades neste teste.

Penso que por exemplo a Opel Combo e o Volvo Xc40 conseguem, melhores resultados no teste deste canal do que o Peugeot 3008 hibrido do video anterior

Adrian Lund spent much of his career getting automakers to build vehicles that would protect their occupants from serious injury in a crash. After a severe collision last summer, the retired president of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and the Highway Loss Data Institute in all likelihood owes his life to the improvements he helped usher in.
Lund was on his way to Savannah, Georgia, early one Saturday in August. He had gone just 15 miles from his northern Virginia home when a car traveling the wrong way on the Interstate 95 express lanes collided with his. The frontal collision in the left lane sent Lund’s car spinning and rolling before coming to rest upside down on the right shoulder.
Lund estimates he was traveling 60 or 65 mph. The other car was going about 50.
“This was a high-speed crash, one that probably 10 years ago, I wouldn’t be here to talk to you about it,” he said recently.
Sadly, the other driver, a 29-year-old woman, was thrown from her car during the crash and died. When the crash occurred, she was driving the wrong way after making a U-turn in the southbound lanes.
Lund, who retired from IIHS-HLDI in 2017, credits his car, a 2020 BMW 540i with saving his life. The model, a 2020 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK, earned good ratings in all six crashworthiness tests, including the ones most applicable to Lund’s crash, the small overlap front and roof strength.
Lund remembers hanging upside down after the crash and noticing that he had room to move his legs. He was aware that he had just been in a frontal offset collision not all that different from the many tests he had watched in the crash hall at the IIHS Vehicle Research Center. In those tests, the structural intrusion is often worst around the legs, and the crash test dummy frequently registers high leg injury measures.
“The emergency teams began to show up shortly thereafter,” Lund said. “They kept asking me, ‘Are you OK?’ I said, ‘I think I'm OK. I don’t feel anything broken.’” Soon after, the rescuers cut the seat belt and pulled him out. Lund recalled feeling relief once he was out and able to see people’s faces.

Lund’s totaled car in the studio at the IIHS-HLDI Vehicle Research Center Dominik Schuster, vice president of vehicle safety at BMW, said the crash showed the effectiveness of the vehicle’s safety concept and the importance of the extensive testing that vehicles undergo during development.
“In the end, it's all about one thing — providing vehicle occupants with the best possible protection in the event of an actual crash. IIHS has also been pursuing the same goal for decades. By setting requirements and performing tests derived from real-world crashes, they have been instrumental in driving vehicle safety,” Schuster added. “Ultimately, the crash Adrian Lund had with his BMW 540i is a powerful example of how the interaction between consumer protection organizations like IIHS and automakers saves lives on the road.”
The other car in the crash, a 2016 BMW 228i, also had good crashworthiness ratings for the five tests that IIHS was conducting in 2016. Because the driver wasn’t belted, she was ejected from the vehicle, virtually eliminating any chance of survival. Without knowing more about the condition of her car, it’s impossible to say whether she would have survived this particular crash even if she had been belted. After striking Lund’s car, her car immediately collided with the jersey barrier. In addition, because of its smaller size and lighter weight, the midsize 2 series was at a disadvantage in a crash with the 5 series, a large car.
Lund suffered from dizziness for a couple of weeks resulting from a blow to the head. He had serious bruises on his chest, left side and leg and both heels, along with cuts on his arm. He also had some neck discomfort for several months, which he believes was a result of being upside down after the crash and supporting some of his weight with his head.
“In a crash like this, you don’t come out uninjured,” Lund said. “Considering the crash I was in, that I had a frontal, followed by a rollover — yeah, I’m pretty lucky. The car did its job.”

`Dummies' simulam os ocupantes; painel e volante ficam deformados [SIZE=-1] da Redação [/SIZE]

A Volkswagen está em fase final de estudos do sistema de airbag (bolsa de ar que infla em acidentes) que vai equipar, a partir do segundo semestre, as linhas Gol, Parati e Saveiro.
A montadora realizou um crash-test (colisão contra obstáculo) com um Gol GTi 16V, que custa R$ 30.260. A Volks é a única -entre as quatro grandes montadoras nacionais- que não possui carros fabricados no país com airbag.
O carro contava com os sensores de detonação -para avaliar o tempo de abertura do airbag-, mas não com as bolsas de ar.
O crash-test foi frontal, com a colisão acontecendo contra um obstáculo fixo, em ângulo de 15ø.
O carro é lançado contra um muro a uma velocidade constante de 55 km/h. O impacto equivale a uma colisão na traseira de outro veículo em movimento, a 112 km/h.
Ou, ainda, a uma batida frontal contra outro carro, trafegando em sentido contrário, a 142 km/h.
No interior do Gol estavam dois "dummies", bonecos com peso e altura semelhantes a homens adultos, para avaliar os danos causados aos ocupantes.
"O motorista do Gol GTi, numa batida como essa, sofreria graves lesões no tórax, queixo e pernas", avalia o tenente Redcliff Sierra dos Santos, da Polícia Rodoviária, que acompanhou o crash-test.
O "dummie", mesmo com o cinto de segurança, bateu a cabeça e o tórax contra o volante de direção. As pernas chocaram-se contra a parte inferior do painel.
"O passageiro iria sofrer lesões nos joelhos. Mas o cinto de segurança absorveu bem o impacto.
Para Santos, se o carro estivesse equipado com airbag, o hipotético motorista teria sofrido "ferimentos bem mais leves". [SIZE=-1] (MTL) [/SIZE]

Toyota’s Urban Cruiser was tested in its most basic safety spec fitted with 2 frontal airbags and ABS. During the assessment it showed a stable structure, and adequate to good protection of critical body regions of the adults. The CRS installed using the ISOFIX anchorages showed good protection of both child occupants. The lack of 3 point belts in all seating positions and the high neck biomechanical values in the frontal crash explain the three stars for child occupant protection.

The i20 was tested in its most basic safety spec fitted with 2 frontal airbags and ABS. During the assessment it showed an unstable structure, a risk of the driver airbag not fully protecting the driver’s head and weak protection to the driver’s chest. Despite using the ISOFIX anchorages to install both Child Restraint Systems (CRS) the 3 year old dummy showed high deceleration in the head during the crash. It surprised Global NCAP that this model is still being sold with a lap belt (all seating positions should have 3 point belts) in the rear centre seat, no ESC and no side head impact protection as standard in comparison to the same model in Europe that offers Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) as standard equipment.

The Creta was tested in its most basic safety spec fitted with 2 frontal airbags and ABS. It recorded an unstable structure and the risk of injury to the lower legs and feet of the driver. Lack of ISOFIX anchorages and 3 point belts in all seating positions explains the child occupant protection results. Global NCAP was surprised to see in such a new model the lack of 3 point belts in all seating positions, lack of ESC and no side head impact protection as standard.

Dacia Jogger As previously indicated, the Dacia Jogger has not really been tested. The rating of one star out of five was actually obtained because of the test of the Dacia Sandero Stepway from which it stems. Despite scoring fairly poorly, the Jogger still scored 70% for adult occupant protection and 69% for child safety. Alas, it only gets 41% in pedestrian protection. If you look closely at the results, you can see that the Jogger lost a lot of points in the "Safety Aid" category, EuroNCAP explains why: A seat belt reminder system is standard for the front and rear seats. However, there is no reminder for the third row seat belts, when fitted, so the Jogger loses points to the Sandero Stepway on which the ranking is based, and that is enough to drop the security assistance score below the threshold required for two stars.
