Já andei a sondar o mercado de usados para a geração de 88-90, mas o motor VM deixa-me de pé atrás.

Tem hoje início o maior evento Land Rover da Península Ibérica. O Land Rover Ibérico regressa a Gouveia para um fim de semana que se espera espectacular.

Apareçam por lá. Vai haver Land Rovers para todos os gostos, incluindo uma exposição de veículos da GNR, pista de obstáculos natural e artificial.

A circulação no parque é gratuita, desde que os carros fiquem cá fora.

Por acaso o meu pai costuma andar com um Defender TD5 (já fez 10 aninhos...como o tempo passa)

Já andei com ele e embora adore o carro e o que representa vejo ali umas falhas no que gosto de um carro.

Aquela direcção juntamente com os clássicos BFGoodrich não tem feeling nenhum.

A posição dos pedais também é esquisita assim como uma hora a trabalhar com os mesmos, equivale a 2 horas de ginásio.

Agora o motor, TD5, é um brinquedo engraçado, até na sonoridade.

O encontro foi em Gouveia. O Ibérica realiza-se alternadamente em Portugal e em Espanha, se bem que no ano passado os espanhóis tiveram problemas e não organizaram.

Este ano foi a segunda vez que o encontro foi em Gouveia, pois o parque tem condições muito boas para este evento.

O primeiro foi na Figueira da Foz, depois em Góis,

Entraram oficialmente 1018 LR, se bem que o número foi superior porque algum pessoal entrou à socapa

Gaydon, Warwickshire, 18 November 2010 - Land Rover will introduce the new Discovery 4 'Landmark' Limited Editions in January 2011 featuring unique Black and White colour themes.

This new variant brings a fresh, more contemporary sense of design to the latest Discovery 4 line-up. Both the Black and White models blend high-end interiors with bold, contemporary colour schemes, giving the Discovery 4 a more upmarket look. In keeping with the core appeal of the Discovery 4, this Limited Edition offers on-road refinement to match most executive saloons, the versatility of a large people carrier and unrivalled off-road capability.

"The new Landmark Limited Edition Discovery 4 has been created to offer our customers more choice," said Land Rover design director Gerry McGovern. "The Discovery 4 is already the ultimate all-purpose vehicle, but we've brought a new, bolder, more contemporary edge to the design, offering a higher level of luxury in the cabin."

The Landmark is available in Santorini Black or Fuji White colour schemes. A high-specification Taurus interior leather comes in either Ebony or - for the first time in a Discovery - Ivory. Offsetting the Grand Ivory veneer with a contrasting top stitch creates a duo-tone look, offering bold colour combinations to give both versions a striking, contemporary finish.
The exterior also benefits from Santorini Black finish grille vanes, gloss black 20" 5-spoke diamond-turned alloy wheels, privacy glass, and Satin Black extended roof rails that create a unique side silhouette.

The Landmark is powered by Land Rover's highly efficient 3.0 litre SDV6 twin turbo diesel engine that offers a nine percent fuel economy improvement (EU combined cycle), compared to 2.7 litre engine it replaced and ten percent less CO2, re-affirming the brand's ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability.

All variants come with Land Rover's award-winning Terrain ResponseTM system, which optimises the vehicle set-up for virtually all on-road or off-road driving situations, with five different settings to suit different terrains.

The Land Rover Discovery first went on-sale in 1989 and since then has received over 150 awards from all over the world. From the marina directly into rough terrain: The STARTECH Land Rover Defender 90 Yachting Edition looks as great at the marina as it does on magnificent boulevards or when venturing off road.

Painted bright white, the premium leather/Alcantara interior dyed navy blue, foot wells and trunk clad in the finest teak - the English off-roader with lavish STARTECH design perfectly transfers maritime ambiance into the automobile.

Wide tires in size 265/75 R 16 bring three additional centimeters of tread in contact with the road and give the Land Rover an even brawnier appearance. The finest navy-blue leather with white contrasting seams refines door and side panels alike and adorns dashboard, center console and the Recaro sport seats. The new seats offer much better lateral support than the stock seats. But that's not all: Their leather upholstery is masterfully sewn using white baseball-style cross stitching and adds a modern contrast to the classic Land Rover interior. The shells of the seatbacks are painted white to match the exterior.

The headliner is made from Alcantara dyed the same color as the leather appointments. Precision-sewn white seams add magnificent highlights here as well.

Among the numerous other loving STARTECH details are an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel, shifter, emergency brake and reduction gear lever all covered with navy-blue leather and a Yachting Edition plaque on the center console.

Rounding out the STARTECH treatment is a high-end sound system calibrated to the Defender interior. The sound system also features an integrated touch screen navigation system.

Project Kahn Unwraps Range Rover RS500 with 500HP Cosworth-Tuned V8 Diesel

UK-based tuning firm Project Kahn has unleashed its latest creation based on the diesel-powered Land Rover Range Rover. The comprehensive tune covers both the interior and exterior styling as well as the 4.4-liter V8 diesel, courtesy of renowned engine tuner Cosworth.

On the outside, the Range Rover RS500 gets redesigned bumpers, the rear featuring a diffuser, lowered side skirts and a quad tail pipe exhaust system developed by Cosworth. Certain components are painted in silver and form a nic contrast with the black paintjob and tinted windows. The RS500 rides on 22-inch RSX alloys with a multi-spoke design.

Inside, bespoke black quilted leather with silver stitching wraps the seats, glove box and dashboard. There's also aluminum decor on the doorsills, center console, gear lever, air vents and steering wheel. Manufactured in Italy with original Land Rover parts, the new steering wheel has a motorsport-inspired contour and promises to offer a better grip.

The final piece of the RS500 puzzle is the Cosworth performance upgrade, which squeezes 500 horsepower out the 4.4-liter V8 diesel engine, up from the standard version's 313 hp and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque.

Antes de mais, peço desculpa por desenterrar este tópico.

Agora com a saída do novo Range Rover Evoque há uma dúvida que persiste na minha mente e ainda não consegui ver esclarecida. Como achei que não vale a pena abrir um tópico só por causa disto, cá vai:

Penso que é sabido (ou pelo menos a ideia que tenho) que houve uns certos anos (década 90) em que a land rover e mais propriamente os modelos range rover não ficavam muito bem vistos na fotografia devido aos problemas das suspensões que originavam, suspensões estas que eram muito evoluídas e "xpto" mas que deixavam a desejar na fiabilidade.
Mais recentemente temos o caso do primeiro Freelander que também é um poço de avarias pelo que vou lendo. Não vou especificar nada pois já li tanta coisa diferente que nem vale a pena.

A minha dúvida é... Como anda a land rover neste momento em termos de fiabilidade? O freelander mais recente e o range rover (incluindo o sport) continuam com problemas de fiabilidade ou nem por isso?
A verdade é que por esta internet fora o que não faltam são estes modelos (principalmente o range rover) cheios de quilómetros, falta é saber quantas peças não terá levado pelo caminho... São carros fiáveis ao nível de mecânica e electrónica?

É uma questão somente para tirar a curiosidade.

São fiaveis de um modo geral. Os P38 e o Freelander 1 tiveram alguns problemas, no caso do primeiro foi mais uma situação de se passar de um modelo muito antigo para um extremamente evoluido (para a época) em quenão foi acautelado uma seérie de situações.
Desde que se tenha "deep pockets" para se ir á marca ou se conhece um bom mecânico então está safo. Trata-se mais de manutenção do que falta de fiabilidade, como qualquer outra marca de topo. Não se compra um X5 a pensar em ter uma manutenção de um Duster!

Novos motores, caixa e não só.

MY Range Rover Sport 2012: caixa de 8 velocidades automática e ligar (entre outros)

Como veremos mais tarde, olhando para o Discovery é o tempo do facelift e algumas Land Rover nova e importante. Primeira parada, esta manhã na caixa do Range Rover Sport, que mudanças na magnitude poderia ser construído em torno de três elementos: mais potência, menos emissões de CO2 e caixa de velocidades automática oito relatórios. Todos os detalhes após a introdução.
Nível mecânico, há apenas mudança no lagar de azeite que é o 3.0 V6 diesel, cujo poder aumenta de 245 cv para 256 cv. Menos energia, o motor se mostrou tão prejudicial em termos de meses de lançamento de emissões de CO2, cujo nível diminui para 230 g/km contra 243 g/km.
Há também e acima de tudo o que este motor é agora juntamente com a ZF oito novos velocidades com roda de pás e botão selector de velocidades. Como para a gasolina V8 supercharged bloco 5.0 l, que não se move.
Em estilo e conforto, melhorias ou alterações no MY 2012 irá revelar sutis. Range Rover Sport e adota um novo poder porta traseira de alumínio leve, jantes de liga leve novas de 20 polegadas, enquanto a entourage da grade eo projeto de mudança de óptica sutil. Finalmente mais e mais ricamente dotados como ricamente dotados, este vintage herda sistemas Harman Kardon multimedia melhorou 11 HP e 380 HP contra 9 W e 240 W no Ice Hi-HP ou até mesmo 17 contra 14 e 825 W e 480 W HP em todos os opcionais Logic 7. Pode-se notar também que, pela primeira vez em um Range Rover Sport, a última geração de sete polegadas de tecnologia touch screen está disponível com Dual View. Finalmente? O HSE está agora disponível no pacote, como os modelos ou Supecharged novas cores e acabamentos. Agora esperar as tarifas da rede e mais fotos para apreciar de forma mais precisa o olhar do Range Rover Sport 2012!

España: Gama Land Rover Discovery 2012

Los chicos de Land Rover han vuelto a darle un repasito a la gama Discovery y aunque en esta ocasión la estética se mantiene sin cambios, la mejora principal llega a los motores que son más potentes y frugales. Su puesta a la venta en España es inmediata.

Como escalón de acceso, el Discovery se mueve con el 3.0 TD4 de 211 CV. Gracias al empleo de un nuevo sistema de inyección y el filtro antipartículas PDF se ha conseguido reducir el nivel de emisiones de los 244 a los 224 g/km de CO2. Por su parte la opción más potente pasa ahora a contar con 255 CV (antes 245). Se trata del 3.0 SD4, que igualmente tiene como novedad la nueva caja automática desarrollada por ZF y ocho velocidades. Con todo, reduce las emisiones hasta los 230 g/km de CO2 y encima es más rápido.

Los precios recomendados de la nueva gama 2012 son los siguientes:
3.0 TDV6 211 CV S 49.950 €
3.0 TDV6 211 CV SE 56.420 €

Land Rover quer saber o que fazer com o Defender
O Land Rover Defender é um ícone. Sempre presente (1947), atualizado ao longo do tempo com parcimônia tal, deve ser um especialista para detectar diferenças entre o primeiro eo novo modelo, é sempre à altura da tarefa que lhe foi confiada, o que ela é, e tem uma esperança de imagem caipiras que fez sua nobreza e sempre protegidos Douchebag de Reciclagem ", que arruinou a Hummer e cliente gangster / jogadores de futebol / gerenciado perpetuamente ameaça a G -Wagen (que não merece isso) e levar mais e mais seu primo, o Range Rover. Novo motor diesel para o Defender:

New diesel engine for Defender


A new 2.2-litre diesel engine replaces the outgoing 2.4-litre lump for the 2012 Land Rover Defender.

Despite the reduction in cubic capacity the new engine produces 120bhp at 3500rpm and 266lb ft of torque at 2000rpm, the same as the previous engine.

Top speed has been raised to 90mph compared with the current Defender’s 82mph.

With the help of a diesel particulate filter, the unit produces 266g/km for the Defender 90 and 295g/km for the 110 and 130, complying with the EU5 emissions regulations- a first for the Defender.

For the 2012 model, the previously used six-speed gearbox has been kept, with a low first gear which “offers low crawl speed making towing on-road and off-road much easier.”

Two new option packs will be offered: the £1650 Comfort Pack includes air conditioning, CD player with auxiliary input, electric windows and remote central locking.

The £1500 Off-Road Pack offers ABS, heavy duty rims and off-road tyres, as well as a tow ball and an under-ride protection bar. Land Rover is now also offering a plain black hood for the pick up model.

Land Rover Global Brand Director John Edwards said: "With the introduction of the new 2.2-litre diesel engine and two option packs, the Defender for 2012 now offers greater customer choice than ever before.”

Prices for the 2012 Defender start from £21,895.

Vilner presenta una coppia di Land Rover Defender elaborati, espressamente richiesti da un cliente russo alla ricerca di un modo inedito di concepire la “rustica” fuoristrada inglese. Le Defender, che hanno preso il nome di “The Twins” sono state modificate con l’aggiunta di molto materiale fonoassorbente, quasi assente nel modello di serie e gli interni sono stati rivestiti in pelle nappa ed alcantara, con materiali che solitamente si trovano sulle più recenti Bentley.

Land Rover Scores 54% of the Vote in MSN Cars’ Poll of Best 4x4 Brands


In a recent online poll, MSN Cars asked its readers a simple question: “Which firm makes the best '4x4' type cars?” The winner, with an astonishing 54% of the 39,663 votes is IndianBritish automaker Land Rover.The brand’s winning combination of aggressive yet attractive styling, “go anywhere” off-road ability, ruggedness and comfort have made Land Rover the powerhouse brand it is today – and a deserved winner. Land Rover UK managing director Colin Green is understandably over the moon:
“We are thrilled that MSN users have voted Land Rover their favourite 4x4 brand. We know that Land Rover has some of the best brand loyalty figures in the industry and this poll is testament to that. Taking over half the votes is a great achievement and goes to prove that Land Rover really does make the world's most authentic 4x4s. Thank you to everyone who voted for us!”
Second place was snatched by Toyota (9%) and Audi took a surprising third (8%). Jeep claimed an equally surprising sixth (3%), bested by the likes of BMW (6%), Mitsubishi (5%) and Subaru (4%). Mercedes-Benz shared 7th place with Jeep while Lexus, Volkswagen and Volvo scored 2% a piece.
With a history stretching back 63 years, there have been many noteworthy Land Rovers. It seems every model the company has released – from the Range Rover of the 1970s to the Discovery and Freelander models of the ‘90s – has ignited the public’s imagination and fuelled much debate.
