For nearly a year and a Jaguar will launch a new sedan that many currently known as Q-type. We will work on Jaguar sedan that will compete with the BMW 3 series, this and other similar premium models.
Lately, it has often seen the test specimen which has already entered the last phase of development, the emphasis will reportedly be the dynamism and agility of the car.That is why jaguar insiders often refer just to the series 3 as the main rival of the car.

Q-type will be based on Jaguarovoj new platform called Premium Lightweight Architecture and basic material will be aluminum. Front and rear overhang should be very short, and the motor is located substantially behind the front axle which together with other solutions allow weight distribution 50/50 between the front and rear axles.

Powertrain will consist of a new generation's JLR (Jaguar - Land Rover) 4-cylinder turbocharged engines, petrol and diesel engine. Top offers V6 version will do, and will almost certainly be offered to customers and at least one hybrid version.

The final appearance of still unknown, but the design will influence all jaguar models newer generations, XF, XJ and F-type. About a year after the launch of the sedan, is expected to offer customers and Jaguar coupe and convertible versions of the car.

Premiere sedan is expected in the second half of next year and production will be given to new plants at Solihull, UK. In the same place will be produced and this sedan sister SUV / crossover.

O concept será já apresentado em Frankfurt dentro de 1 mês e meio (o nome do concept é desconhecido, mas o modelo de produção deverá chamar-se Q-Type).

O sucessor espiritual do X-Type será revelado em setembro e terá motores de quatro e seis cilindros.

Reajustando o seu posicionamento no mercado, a marca de luxo britânica pretende apostar num conjunto de novos modelos mais acessíveis até 2015, tentando emular o sucesso da “irmã” Land Rover, segundo fontes do fabricante à Reuters. Além disso, há uma intenção de aproveitar o balanço do lançamento do muito elogiado F-Type. Daí que a apresentação do sucessor do X-Type (na imagem), berlina compacta produzida entre 2001 e 2009, esteja prevista já para daqui a apenas algumas semanas, no Salão de Frankfurt, em setembro. O modelo em questão, que deverá chamar-se XS, deverá ter motores de quatro e seis cilindros.

Não é de agora que o patrão do grupo Jaguar Land Rover, a indiana Tata, pretende potenciar a Jaguar. Daí que a juntar à berlina compacta deverá estar ainda um SUV. Ambos deverão chegar ao mercado na segunda metade de 2015. A nova família de Jaguar “mais acessíveis” deverá ser construída nas mesmas linhas de produção anteriormente utilizadas para fazer modelos da Land Rover. A nova gama deverá ser construída integralmente em alumínio, tal como sucedeu com o Jaguar XJ.

Jaguar XS terá versões coupé e carrinha

Jaguar’s upcoming baby sedan will allegedly receive coupe and estate body styles to better compete with its main rival, the BMW 3-Series.
The sedan is scheduled to go on sale in the second half of 2015 and will be followed shortly by the two additional versions. The car will ride on Jaguar’s brand new iq[Al] aluminum architecture and will be available with 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines which will enable the XS (naming not confirmed) to have CO2 emissions below the 100 g/km mark. More powerful engines are also in tow for the Jaguar XS such as a 3.0-liter V6 diesel providing 240 HP (177 kW) and a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 developing 340 HP (250 kW).

In an interview given to Auto Express, Jaguar global brand director Adrian Hallmark said the new model (with all three body styles) has what it takes to "comfortably" double sales for the British marque. In terms of aesthetics, Hallmark said "we want to build the best-looking car in the segment, so design appeal number one."

Y es este punto el más complicado de todos, y en el que, ya se ha anunciado, buscan socios. Pues la creciente presión por reducir emisiones de CO2 y consumos en la Unión Europea puede suponer poner contra las cuerdas a fabricantes que no puedan permitirse lanzar motores y técnicas completamente nuevas para sus modelos, caso de JLR. Por eso JLR busca un socio para "temas híbridos".

Con todo, Autocar y Automotive News hablan de cuatro nuevos modelos, como mínimo, lanzados por Jaguar para finales de 2018, junto con alguna sorpresa más de Land Rover. Entre ellos, el nuevo sedán de segmento D de Jaguar (lanzamiento en 2015), del que la firma británica asegura que no será "uno más", sino "el mejor del segmento". Por lo pronto ya sabemos que contará con un bastidor de aluminio, lo que lo convertirá en único, ya que ninguno de sus rivales utiliza una estructura similar. ¿Lo aprovecharán con un ahorro espectacular de peso? Veremos a ver, pues JLR tiene siempre problemas en la báscula, merced de usar plataformas modulares muy grandes para coches no tan grandes...

Tras el sedán llegarán un familiar, un SUV (C-X17 de producción) y hasta un cupé para plantar cara a los A5 y Serie 4.

Compact sedan due in 2015

JLR's new strategy chief Adrian Hallmark has shed some light regarding Jaguar's upcoming lineup expansion plans.
We already know Jaguar will launch an all-aluminum compact sedan in early 2015 which will be aimed at the BMW 3-Series. Its name will allegedly be XS (codenamed X760) and will receive an estate variant in 2016, followed by a two-door coupe in 2018 and possibly a BMW GT-like hatchback before the end of the decade.

Geneva, 04 March 2014: Today Jaguar confirms that it will bring an all-new mid-size sports sedan to production; the Jaguar XE.

Speaking at the Geneva Auto Show Dr Ralf Speth, Chief Executive Officer, Jaguar Land Rover, confirmed: "We announced just a few weeks ago that our new Engine Manufacturing Centre would produce a new family of premium, lightweight, low-friction, low emission four-cylinder petrol and diesel units. The first of our Ingenium engine range will be used in our all-new mid-sized Jaguar sports sedan. That car will be called the Jaguar XE, and it will be unveiled in production form later this year."

The XE will be the first product from the new advanced aluminium architecture which was showcased in the C-X17 concept car in 2013. Its global rollout will begin in 2015, and it will be the first aluminium monocoque vehicle in the segment. It brings our customers all the benefits of aluminium: lightness and stiffness for unbeatable handling, performance, refinement and efficiency. The new engine and aluminium chassis complement each other perfectly.

Power will be provided by engines with a wide range of capacities and output, all delivering inspirational performance and offering the latest innovations in fuel-efficient technologies without sacrificing drivability.

Utilising the most flexible engine architecture ever produced by Jaguar Land Rover, with an advanced design configured to suit in-line and transverse installations for rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations, the new engines will be both efficient and powerful - including top speeds of over 300km/h (186mph), and emissions lower than 100g of CO2 per km.

Kevin Stride, Jaguar's Vehicle Line Director for XE, said: "The engineering development of the XE has focused on delivering customers with the most advanced, efficient and refined sports sedan in its class. The name of the Jaguar XE follows a logical progression, positioned alongside the XF and XJ saloons in the range. Full XE technical and range details will be announced later in 2014. The global roll-out will begin from mid-2015.

Jaguar XE vai ter motor V6 do F-Type

The upcoming Jaguar XE will be available with the same supercharged V6 engine already used in the F-type sports car when it goes on sale next year.

It was previously reported that Jaguar would only use its new range of 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engines – currently referred to as the 'Ingenium' family – on its BMW 3-series rival.

Jaguar's official UK website has now, though, confirmed the model will also be available with the same supercharged 3.0-litre V6 engine seen in the F-type V6 and V6S models. The engine produces 335bhp and 325lb ft of torque in that guise, propelling the F-type to 60mph in 5.1 seconds, and on to a top speed of 161mph. It returns around 32mpg, with CO2 emissions of 205g/km.

The XE is likely to be priced from £29,000 when it goes on sale in order to remain competitive against its rivals, including the new Mercedes-Benz C-class. The car will use a new high-tech aluminium platform, and sit underneath the XF in Jaguar's range.

A company spokesman confirmed the power unit would be offered, and that further details would be released ahead of the XE going on sale.
