BMW has finally announced the price of the mouth-watering </u>M3 CSL and at £58,455 it will compete head-to-head with the standard Porsche 911 Carrera</u>. Lighter, more powerful and even more driver-orientated than the fabulous M3, it looks like conspicuously good value. In truth, although it has price-parity with the Carrera it's more appropriate to consider the CSL a 911 GT3 or even Ferrari 360 Stradale rival.</u>
The M Division has coaxed 355bhp from the 3.2-litre straight-six (up from 339bhp), produced at a screaming 7900rpm, thanks to a larger carbonfibre induction system, hotter cams, modified exhaust valves and a freer-flowing exhaust manifold. It's quite a feat and means the superb 'six' generates an incredible 111bhp per litre. BMW claims the CSL will hit 62mph from rest in 4.9sec.
The CSL has some pretty special options, too. The first and most evocative is the option to remove the standard BMW 155mph speed limiter. Tick the appropriate box and your CSL will run unhindered to around 185mph. The other interesting option concerns the tyres. The CSL will come as standard with the same 19in wheels and road tyres available as an option on the M3, but you can choose to specify the specially-developed Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres on unique split-spoke alloys. Both are no-cost options. On the track-biased rubber the CSL (which has a wider front track) generates staggering cornering force of </u>well over 1g, according to BMW.
Customers who choose to delimit their CSLs and want the
ultimate wheel and tyre combination are being asked to sign disclaimers guarding against negligence claims in case of cold-tyre-induced crashes (and possibly against engines suffering oil deprivation under extreme use)</u>. Basically, BMW wants to look responsible before letting the hardcore CSL out into the public domain and is covering itself against any legal eventualities. We expect most of the 500 customers to ditch the speed limiter and at least order the Michelin Cups for track outings.
Another unique CSL feature is the new M Track Mode - a DSC setting that allows total commitment on a circuit without ruining the fun, but intervenes if it detects you've completely lost control</u>. Luddites might frown upon the SMG-only transmission but the CSL looks set to be one of the most exciting cars of the year and the most focused BMW since the four-cylinder M3 Sport Evo. Deliveries begin in August.

Acho a comparação com o Porsche e o Ferrari no minimo ambiciosa mas ainda nada se sabe acerca do real valor de todos eles. Ao nivel de motor, o BMW é o mais fraco em valor total de potencia. Possiveis vencedores para este comparativo, com base no nosso extenso conhecimento empirico[

Compreendo o "disclaimer" da BMW mas a justificação do motor ficar sem oleo sob condições extremas podia (devia) ser resolvido como fizeram com o M5, montando um sistema que julgo que aspira o oleo das areas onde ele se concentra quando o carro está sujeito a forças na casa de 1g+ bombeando-o para onde é necessário.
Mas pronto, aqui está um digno sucessor da longa tradição desportiva germanica e em particular da BMW.

esse carro era conhecido por anjo barroco.
teve poucas vendas porque foi lançado numa altura onde se pretendia modelos de baixo consumo,e economicos na manutenção,coisa que essa carro não era é economico.
