This past week, a 964 Porsche 911 sold for $439,099 at auction on Collecting Cars, but it wasn’t just any 964, rather it was a rare 911 Turbo 3.6 “X88” with quite the history to boot.
The 1994 911 Turbo 3.6, a rare car to begin with, was originally commissioned for the infamous Sultan of Brunei, and was equipped with the output-boosting “X88” package. It was also of course owned by 2009 Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button, and if all of that wasn’t enough, it boasts a mere 19,283 miles (31,033 km) on the clock.
