"17:49 – F1's governing body, the FIA, will revisit the controversial clash between Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, and its causes, to determine whether any further action is required.
Ferrari driver Vettel responded to what he felt was a brake test from Hamilton behind the Safety Car by gesticulating, pulling alongside the Mercedes and making side-on-side contact.
Stewards later cleared Hamilton of any wrongdoing after going through telemetry data on his car, coming to the conclusion that he drove consistently at all restarts and behaved "correctly".
Analysis: Should stewards have parked Vettel?
Vettel, meanwhile, was given a 10-second stop/go penalty for his actions, and came home fourth, ahead of Hamilton, who was was forced to make an extra pit-stop due to a loose headrest.
However, on Wednesday afternoon, the FIA announced that the situation will be "further examined" next week, meaning championship leader Vettel could face additional punishment.
A spokesman for the FIA explained that "the causes on the incident" will be evaluated on Monday, with a decision to arrive before the Austrian Grand Prix, which will run from July 7-9.
No details regarding how the investigation will take place have been supplied.
"Following the recent incident at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in which Car 5 (Sebastian Vettel) was involved in a collision with Car 44 (Lewis Hamilton), on Monday July 3, the FIA will further examine the causes on the incident in order to evaluate whether further action is necessary," read a brief statement.
"A statement regarding the outcome will be made available before the Austrian Grand Prix."
No updates on the process are expected until next week."
