Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) have a whole series of technical advantages over conventional bulbs, the most important being their activation speed and their long service life. If a trailing driver can notice the brake lights of the leading car sooner, that driver’s reaction time can be quickened, potentially resulting in a shorter stopping distance and/or avoiding an accident. LEDs can last an entire vehicle lifetime, consume up to 50 percent less energy and take up less space. Selected Audi models use LEDs for rear light functions (tail lights, brake lights, turn signal indicators), in the side turn indicators, and in daytime driving lights.
Daytime Running Light (DRL)
Various studies and the NHTSA recommend the use of daytime running lights, to improve driver visibility to oncoming traffic during the day. DRLs are mandatory in Canada. Several Audi models are now equipped with DRLs, which can be switched on or off based on driver preference. When the low-beam headlights are switched on by the light sensor or rain sensor, the daytime driving lights remain on but are dimmed to the brightness of side lights.
No A4 b8 acho q tb dá p desligar as DRL (leds).
